Lauren's mother misunderstands

"Why are you bottomless!?" Michelle, Lauren's mother demanded. Lauren, out of breath, wide eyed and helpless, could say nothing. Her mother approached her then, hearing the laughter out the window, looked out to see Ray standing looking stunned, his friend's all laughing.

"Did you just... expose yourself? In front of those men?!" Michelle shrieked. "Did you reveal yourself like some sort of streaker?!"

"No mom, it's not like that!" Lauren yelped defensively. She clutched the shorts to her crotch, for what little coverage they provided

"You're so obsessed with your own body!" Her mother went on, enraged. "You think it's the most important thing in the world, your vanity is immature and childish! I bet you thought, by mooning those men, you'd have them crazy with lust! Well listen to them! They're not impressed, their laughing! Laughing at your childish display! Your exposure didn't impress anyone, you just embarrassed yourself, and your family at the same time! Well, if you behave like a child perhaps I should deal with you like one!"

"Mom, no!" Lauren screamed, but her cries fell on deaf ears...
