You confront him... and overpower him.

You stop and think carefully for a second. If he can't look into your eyes, he can't control you. This means that you are going to have to fight him blind, at least until you knock the book from his hands. You take a deep breath, close your eyes, and open the door. You make a quick jab in the direction you think his face is at but skim his shoulder. You quickly feel him grip you and knock you to the ground.

He jumps on top of you and smashes you in the face with the book. You hit him in the gut and buy a moment of relief. You can sense another hit coming so you quickly put your arms back up to guard your face. You pull him into a bear hug and begin hitting his back. He struggles his arms free but leaves the book between you. You open your eyes and stop pounding to quickly reach for the book. He was prepared and grabs you by the wrists before you can do so. You are pinned to the ground and he headbutts you three times. You think you feel blood dripping down your forehead and your vision is blurry but you can make out two figures above you. The second figure quickly smashes something over Jacob's head. The debris hits your face but you are otherwise fine. Jacob is laying on the ground **** and Abby is standing above you with a broken chair.

"Baby are you alright?" she says with tears in her eyes. She kneels down to you and kisses your face all over.

"I'm alright. I almost had him," you lie.

"What do we do now?" she asks.

You pick up the book. "Whatever we want to do," you say. You look her in the eye. Let's see if memory wiping works, you think. Setting one only erases memories of when they were under control... however two can modify thoughts, and how different is modification and erasing? Two, forget all the details of this book and ignore its existence. She is better off not knowing about the book. It is safer that way. Now, what should I do to Jacob here...?
