Chapter 4
What happens on their way to the beach? Are there some incidents?
And so it begins
And so they headed out to the beach.
It took them a while to get ready to depart, Helena had for some reason brought her books for studying instead of a swim suit. However, John suggested that she wear one of his sister’s spares after brought up the fact that she and Amy have similar measurements. Thankfully the beach was close by, so John grabbed two towels and left wearing nothing more than his swim trunks. On her hand, Helena walked in Amy’s pink bikini, a pair of jean shorts covering its bottom.
As they walked, John grabbed a hold of Helena’s hands, fully aware that his friend trusted him completely and wouldn’t question his actions.
He carried on with a grin. “I’m glad we’re hanging out today Helena, we haven’t had a day outside of class to ourselves in a while.”
“I know!” she happily replied, indifferent to the fact that they were holding hands. “I’ve missed hanging out with you! I was hoping we could have spent some time together a little sooner, but you know how my boyfriend is.”
John rolled his eyes at that. “Believe me, I do,” he said, a little bit more harshly than he intended. “He’s never really like me, that boyfriend of yours.”
Helena sighed; they’d have this conversation before. “He’s just trying to do right by me. Let’s be honest, not many guys would be comfortable with how close you and I are. Absolute trust in someone isn’t too common after all.”
She would have said more, but she knew John enough to know that he wasn’t about to let the subject matter go. While it was true that her boyfriend had difficulties accepting her closeness with her friend, she had reassured him multiple times that John was never going to take advantage of her trust. However, her boyfriend’s insecurity had caused a bit of animosity between him and John, resulting in a failed friendship. It probably also didn’t help that she was dating the captain of a local football team while John had little interests in sports.
Never the less, she had known the two of them long enough to know how to balance both her time and relationship with the two of them, and instead of keeping John focused on her boyfriend, she quickly changed the subject.
For his part however, John did want to talk about the boyfriend. He wanted to test his powers a little more, and he felt like driving a wedge between Helena and her partner was an excellent place to start. He tried to not change anything during their small talk, instead trying to steer the conversation back to her dating habits but Helena kept full control of their chat.
He was about to bite the bullet and say something out of the blue that would, in theory, properly test his wish when an opportunity for change soon presented itself. It started when a car drove by.
Its sun roof was down, revealing four large jocks with shades and loud obnoxious music. As they passed, the only thing that wasn’t buried under their blaring tunes was the car’s loud honk and their chorus of “Hey girl! Sweet tits!”
Helena stopped and covered her chest as they barreled by, a look on disgust on her face. “Fuck off jerks!” she yelled after them. Their laughter followed behind them.
“God I hate men like them!” she added after they had left, stomping her foot on the ground. “It’s like they see me as nothing more than a pair of fucking tits.”
“Let it go Helena,” he tried, hoping to reassure her, “they’re just a bunch of dicks being dumb.”
But she had already begun her rant. “Oh no, they don’t get off that easily. Is it really so difficult for guys to see beyond my body? Yes, I have tits. I’m a girl, I’m supposed too. But that doesn’t give them the right to drive by and sexually harass me for something I naturally have. You’d think the only thing men find sexy about me are the bags of fat I carry on my chest.”
John inwardly laughed at her calling her boobs ‘bags of fat’. God forbid he do that out loud when Helena was angry.
“I just don’t fucking get it. When I find a guy sexy, it’s because of who he is as a person. Sure, physical attraction is great, but I love a man who’s well read, smart, ambitious, courteous, passionate…”
“All things your current boyfriend isn’t” he silently thought as she rambled on. While his crush on Helena certainly allowed him to overlook some of her faults, some were more difficult to ignore than other.
He tried tuning her out until she **** conversation. To his chagrin, that happened when she turned to him, eyes still fuming.
“I want a guy’s opinion on this. Tell me John, what’s the sexiest thing about a girl?”
And she gave him a look as though she was daring him to say her body.
What's his answer?
