Millie goes to bed

We continue to sit in silence under the blanket as the movie continues playing on the TV in front of us, I am not sure if it is because we are savouring the moment, or if it is because both of us are too embarrassed to speak, but I feel that I have just shared a very special moment with my step-mom and I don't want to ruin it by saying something not well thought through.

After a while, the credits begin to roll on the screen, and Millie says:

"Well, young man, I think that was an evening we both enjoyed."

Then she stands up and says:

"I am sleepy so I'm going to bed, good night."

Then she leans in and gives me a kiss on the cheek.
