Down the hall

You decide to get far away from the approaching orc, trying to travel down the way swiftly and quietly. Before long you find yourself at a crossing with three paths besides the one you just came here through. You hear feminine voices echo down the halls.

Taking a closer listen, you first notice unpleasant wails to your right, like a woman screaming or crying. Looking down the hallway you see evenly spaced doorways along the walls in that direction. As you stare down the pathway you see nothing moving, the passage seems empty save for some kind of wooden stand along the wall. A high shriek and a slamming noise drown out the other voices for a moment as you look to the hallway across from you.

A voice coming from the other hall is harder to make out. It could be singing or talking, or maybe talking melodically. It seems to have an elegant air to it, and the rhythmic tone seems almost entrancing. The hallway turns sharply not far from the intersection, making it unclear how far the source is.

The left path looks much like the right, with a series of doorways running along the walls. You don't hear anything in this direction, not even foot steps.
