You stroke your newfound chin contemplatively. This was... different. You'd gotten weaker, both your physical and ranged attacks dwindling, and you'd lost the ability to "earth wade." You try and walk across the clearing. Nothing. It's like your roots are... buried. Fuck. You didn't like this, not one bit. It reminded you too much of your weed-fiend origins, flashes come to you of being rooted to the spot as **** came, over and over and over... but you had to hold yourself together. You had an audience, one who respected your power, and you needed to keep it that way.
On the positive side, your abilities just got an overhaul. You healed waaay faster in the rain now (which you still had yet to actually use), and herbal flow had been upgraded to "Sweet Nectar" which you were betting would work splendidly for your purposes. Toxic Pollen, hm... I wonder. You weren't quite sure what it would do but you tried to "target" a part of the clearing free of spiders and concentrated. Fwooom. Dozens of tiny white flowers seemed to open up on your vines in the selected area, unleashing a cloud of tiny particles. They spread over the immediate area but seemed to dissipate after a foot or so. You stop and the cloud vanishes almost instantly. Concentration ability huh? It took a decent amount of mana, maybe enough to serve as a vent for your excess assuming its cost scaled with its area.
Hidden in plain sight seemed like it would be useful, especially now that you took up so much more space. You grin, thinking about all the ambushes you could set for unsuspecting hero's... but the really interesting ability was the one you'd saved for last. Seedling... An image flashes before your mind of a baby plant calling you "dada" and you suddenly feel a little queasy. Maybe you weren't ready for this. Steeling yourself, you point at an empty section of ground and Seedling. A fist-sized seed blasts out of the end of your tendril, much to your surprise, and embeds itself in the earth where you pointed. You and the awed spiders watch the crater for a long moment before, with the groaning of rapidly shifting plant material, a tiny version of yourself bursts from the ground.
You are struck with a wave of vertigo as a second set of senses come online and you find yourself staring... at yourself. You look down and see both your "normal" body and a miniaturized version. The seedling was like a part of your body only without a physical connection. You laugh at the small twinge of disappointment you feel as you realize you won't be a "father." Oh well, if it only lasts for a minute I would have been a very sad monster. Leaning in to the little seedling, you study it curiously.
It really did look very much like yourself, with stubbier features and only a few tendrils that waved around jauntily. You tried a few of your abilities through the little plant but none of them manifested. Makes sense, would be a bit overpowered if I could copy myself. On the flip side you studied yourself through the seedlings eyes and you had to admit, you liked what you saw. You towered regally over the clearing, seemingly clad in a royal cloak forged of nature itself. Oh yeah, you were moving up in the world.
What now?

Game Monster
From Creep to Boss
You come into being as a low-level monster, the kind heroes chew through like popcorn. You know the drill, whether you're a player yourself or an artificial intelligence, and you're sick of it. You set out on your own quest: to defeat the heroes at any cost (or at least be an epic boss somewhere down the line).
