Chapter 196 by Twistinger

And after that?

The adventure of their lives together

After graduation, I flew back to California to rejoin Amy. We moved into an apartment of our own, beginning the life that we had dreamed about for so long. It wasn't just about the fantastic sex - although there was definitely a lot of it. Being able to walk the path of life next to each other was the most wonderful thing about it all.

Amy got around to beating the odds she secretly dreamed of - running her own ballet company. And just as I promised her, we only hired dancers with C-cups or bigger. It wasn't a big troupe, and there was little chance that it would be considered a part of the big leagues, but there was no doubting the level of skill and professionalism Amy and her girls - Claire, Tracy, Sonya, Maria and Tami - carried themselves. It didn't hurt that every performance drew the crowds in their hundreds, to catch the girls and their younger twin sisters jump in perfect synchronicity.

But the best part of it all was the new pillar of friendship that Amy and I shared with the troupe. No less than a year after the company was set up, we discovered first-hand that birth control didn't always work. Champion as she was, Amy was grateful for the help that the other dancers offered, be it aiding operations for running the company or giving advice and tips about motherhood.

And then, two months into Amy's pregnancy, the ladies helped me out - by being my personal backup dancers for a stunning proposal I presented to Amy, leaving her in tears. We were both already so hopelessly and unquestionably devoted to one another that our wedding vows felt more like a pleasant formality and less like a life-changing commitment.

Corny and cliche as it seemed, life was perfect for the two of us. The only regret we had was losing touch with our best friends from high school, who by this point we only encountered on Facebook if at all. As close as we were to the troupe, they still didn't hold the magic that we had with our group of six. There was no denying that we both missed them terribly, whether we were running around doing chores, working at the company or just taking care of our infant son at home.

What's happened to Ian's bosom buddies?
