Use the room key without knocking

I dig the room key out of the envelope and put it into the room lock, turning it towards the door frame to unlock it.

The first thing I notice is that the lights are on and the blinds have been closed. Then, at the far end of the room, a guy with a brown hair in a buzz cut quickly pulls the covers of his bed over himself. I can still see his bare, well-tanned shoulders. It doesn't take a whole lot of brain power to figure out what he was doing.

He looks at me, trying to be nonchalant. "Oh, it's Mark, right? Sorry, I was just dozing off."
