Another Quest

“Well, for starters we have another quest,” Dana says with a smile.

**What's this one about?** you query resignedly, trying to accustom yourself to having to act as per 'heroic' behavior for a while.

“Relax, I didn't take any of the ones where we have to hunt 'monsters',” Dana says soothingly, knowing full well how much pain and bitterness you feel about such things, “we are supposed to carry a coded message from the chieftain's first wife to her sister in another village about 3 days walk to the north.”

**Dana, you have been an adventurer long enough to know that those kind of quests are never that simple. We are going to be attacked by a rival tribe or some kind of monsters along the way, and then we will have to kill them, or this message carrying quest will be the start of a long string which once you sign up for the first one you autocratically are enmeshed in the ones that come after; which of course at some point will involve 'monster' hunting,** you chide with a note of depression.

“Okay, yes, that first one is a real possibility, but the second one is not a problem: if it starts a long quest string we just ignore the next quest and go do something else as soon as we come to a quest that involves 'hunting monsters'. We don't have to go along with the quest's parameters if it goes against our ethics,” Dana explains cuddling into your fronds.

**Alright then love, let's get moving, we have a lot of ground to cover it seems, and probably a fight or two along the way,** you state calmly and set off along the path the quest has laid out for you to follow.
