Do not Drink! Mreow!

You stare into Lovara's eyes with distress, and realize for the first time that her eyes have become slit like and feline. Amidst your swimming thoughts this stands out. Have they always been that way? You remember very clearly... no, no they have not. She reiterates her request. "Please! Drink!" she seems a little more urgent now. "You must drink by your agency for the spirits to bind us!" You look at her as though she's shouting at you from a great distance, standing on a hill far away. Her words are muffled, and you're very confused.

Wait. Spirits? Like real spirits? But, what about her eyes? They gleam in the dark now... You marvel appreciatively. Binding spirits? Agen...Agency... Free agency. My choice. the words swim around your mind but nothing really catches.

Amidst the cloud of your mind, you feel a flask being pressed to your lips gently, but push it away. And finally, with a tut and a sigh, you see the witch replace the cork on the flask. She closes her eyes and scowls, but only for a moment. She stands, ushers you to your bedroll and tucks you in. "We are to have a long night other worlder..."

You gaze at her for a moment, but can't seem to keep eye contact. Your eyes want to dart around and look at motion. You see squirrels, and mice, even a few bugs. Each one bids that you chase them. Suddenly you realize that you are seeing things quite clearly despite the darkness! It still looks dark, but the movement and definition of things are still clear.

Next is the sound. The wonderful sound! Things become muffled for a few moments, before you suddenly hear everything around you. Your ears twitch and turn this way and that (Wait, twitch?) Every sound, rather than being intrusive, becomes like a delightful bell. You try to sit up and investigate, but a firm arm presses you back down.

Finally you feel a balm being massaged into your head and you sleep...
