Transforming New World

Transforming New World

A transformation and high fantasy fetish playground.

Chapter 1 by Peri2g Peri2g

(My Original Idea was to emulate a bit of a Byzantine Marketplace. Something like a post roman empire setting. I don't think that worked out, so future chapters I write will be more like a typical high fantasy setting, with just a bit of a roman influence.)

You find yourself in a blissful, yet pensive state of mind. You feel as though you're on the cusp of something big, yet can't quite put your finger on it. Your thoughts toss and tumble through various visual dreams. First you're inside a cozy room with friends. A glow of orange and yellow light quivers from behind the mantel and you all laugh together as someone draws a card before the image shifts again. This time you're in a Cathedral. Looming pillars and a high ceiling of black brick line the narrow walkway to a stone altar set before a powerful but delicate ebony throne. You hear a clatter and turn around to find yourself wandering the markets of Ressledon. It's a bustling city reminiscent of a Byzantine market place. You smile and push your way into the crowds eager to see what the vendors offer but find yourself swallowed up by the packed crowds. Before long you're smothered amidst the people and can barely peak above the crowds to spy a strange shimmering square outline... "A window? My window?" You think to yourself

You take a deep breath and feel the crisp morning air fill your body, waking you from a creaky slumber. You stretch, and wipe the sleep from your eyes. The memories of your scattered dream fade as well, but not without leaving a pensive anticipation of... something. You pull back the curtain from the window and let the late morning light flood into the room. One advantage of this new world was that you had no job, or at least no job yet. You look around the small building that had become home as of two weeks ago. It wasn't much; a small kitchenette, a cozy couch in front of the fire, a comfortable enough bed, and a cellar extending halfway into the earth. It was humble, and didn't have electricity.

"Awaken light" You command. Immediately a warm orange glow fills the room from a crystalline bulb in the ceiling.

"But it does have magic", you consider appreciatively. While technological advancement was extremely uncommon, and confined to exclusively guilds and sects, magic had become consumer common in this world. Most modern creature comforts that were handled by electricity back on earth were still offered here, only with magic. Similarly, the world was filled with all variety of fantastic creatures, ranging from fae to demi-gods.

You nibbled at a meal of hard loaves, plums, and cheese and stepped out onto the front porch. Back on Earth things like this had been happening for a decade. Portals would open up and drop people off, or allow just enough time for a few trades and communications to occur and then disappear. It seemed the same was true for this world as well, and apparently the local government had contingencies for your spontaneous appearance. Within the first two days they had helped you move your things from the remains of your fragmented room into this small home on the outskirts of town, (they even gave you the deed!) And supplied you with basic amenities and food to last a month or so while you settled in. In many ways they remind you of the Roman Empire, but it was far more eclectic and even such a small town as this appeared to have representatives from cultures from all different parts of this new world. You finished your food and consider what to do with the day. Perhaps it's time to look for a job? Or maybe you could explore the market district, You've yet to go there. For the next few weeks, the world is your oyster...
