Later that Night.

You allow the silence to hang in the air for a few minutes, before finding some other inconsequential thing to discuss. You make small talk, but you soon reveal that you're from another world and begin to talk with her about all the differences you've encountered. She seems more than happy to discuss all of this at length, and seems more than thrilled at having met an otherworldly. At the end of the day, you're surprised to find that you had failed to learn anything at all about the mysteries of magic... Perhaps, you decide, you shall bring it up later.

Time passes quickly as the conversation rolls on like the road, but before long nightfall nears, and the pair of you decide to make camp. The nearest town is at least another days travel, she assures you. The roads that you have taken are far less traveled than the main trader highways, as her quest requires her to visit shrines to her goddess, and pay homage to different covens.

As you sit around the fire, pot of stew bubbling amidst the flames, she asks you how you intend to eat and make camp.

You shrug and beckon to the wool cloak and cloth satchel of food.

She laughs that full and wonderful laugh again. "It is truly fate that I have found you. You would have frozen away in the night, or been eaten up after starving on dried food. Don't worry though. Since I've taken you as my traveling companion, I will take care of you."

You fluster slightly at your own ineptitude, then nod gratefully. You look into your sack. You consider that you would have been content with your preserved foods, but as you see the bubbling stew, and hear your stomach groan, you're glad that she's made the offer to you.

As she dishes out your meal, and you make your meager contributions to the pack, she slips a flask from within her flowing travelers cloak and takes a drink before handing it to you.
