Chapter 2
Where will Eva go?
Eva chooses to go to climbing centre
Going climbing by herself would be foolhardy and urban exploration was certainly on grey area of the law if you asked her. It probably ought to be clearly legal, but it might be trespassing depending on the local laws. So she chose to be a good girl (she hummed that tune from Frozen like she always did at moments like this).
She gathered her gear in her backpack checking everything twice. There were 5 litres of water and weeks worth of food just-in-case in addition to ordinary climbing equipment. Being prepared was something she enjoyed and carrying it all was good exercise. It was something others did like to tease her over, but then again they were happy to visit easy climbing places with her knowing she was not jerk like some of the male instructors.
Driving her car to climbing centre was short trip, but she drove there nonetheless just for the joy of it. Perhaps she ought to be more conscientious about the environmental impact, but it was hard to be like that when not being conscientious was just so much fun. Feeling of control and power - perhaps that's what really drives human civilization she thought.
She said her hellos to people at the centre and started her routine. There weren't even new routes since her last visit (which was not much of surprise since they seemed to do that on Mondays when they changed routes at this centre. Up-and-down she climbed - first easy climbs to warm up and then harder ones that she were practising on and then few routes she tried to climb as fast as she could and after that ones she tried to climb as silently as she could (you had to have something to keep your interest up if you repeat something several times a week).
During a short brake she took from climbing she noticed there was a new face there. Short, lean and muscled with overall look that some really healthy and spry older people have, but with a face that looked he was in his twenties. Eye brows were dark and thick like his hairs and eyes looked like they were black too to a really amazing effect. His eyes lightened up and he started to smile a cocky smile as he noticed she was looking him up like that.
"Hi." He said smiling that smile that probably won over girls who didn't like shorter dark haired males.
Eva stopped for a moment as she hadn't expected to be noticed like that as he had been looking elsewhere. She must be more tired from the climbing than she thought she was as her attention and alertness was slipping she thought. "...Hi."
"I'm called Ophid. I haven't visited here before, but you certainly seem like you know your way around." Dark man introduced himself.
"I'm Eva. It's been my favourite places for several years even if it gets a little stale after a while. " Eva answered.
"Oh. Why don't you go out climbing on real walls then - you certainly could?" Ophid asked.
"I meant to, but... my date cancelled." Eva said.
"Sorry to hear that. Here have an apple. Maybe it'll make it up to you." Ophid said.
"Umm... thanks." Eva said taking the apple. "Ophid certainly is a rare name. Haven't heard it before."
"It's more of a nickname. It sounded cool when people called me that and I thought I'd go along." Ophid said.
"It's not easiest one." Eva said while tasting the apple.
"No. But hey - if you are bored here and know your way around better than me why don't we try something much more fun?"
"What do you have in your mind?" Eva asked.
"I'm partial to parkour and I could bet you an another apple that you have tried it before." Ophid said.
"I don't have an apple now that I finished the last one so I better stay away from losing bets." Eva said.
"So... we could go exploring places. And I have apples to spare too!" Ophid said smiling again.
Eva though for a while. It did sound like fun and she had planned going exploring places. She could take him to places she'd planned exploring before, explore neighbourhood close-by or perhaps they could brave the forest she'd planned going to anyway.
Does Eva suggest Ophid urban exploration, show him around attractions close-by or ask him if he'd like to go to climbing with her to forest?

Faerie forests and other places
Lost in the labyrinth
At times reality gives way to unreal even in our current time and people can lose themselves into dream world of stories and nightmares. Wonders and horrors of unreal can overwhelm even those who would otherwise be sane when living in safe world of rest of us. Eva stumbles to a soft place and has to struggle with herself to find her way to home.
