Explore the training grounds

Driving all the way to Gerlangen had made some muscles sore and others had barely been given any attention. It would feel good to give them a well-deserved workout.

You leave Jola asleep in your room and traverse the high abbey. It is such a huge building, you quickly get lost. You often find yourself heading down a passage you’ve been before. This place is like a maze. Luckily there are still many sisters awake at this hour whom you can ask directions, though you do notice a distinct lack of serving girls. Could it be the sisters are staying up after hours?

At any rate, you eventually get to the training grounds. It is an outdoors field behind the abbey. As you exit the abbey, you look up and behold a starry night. It is a lovely night, the sky is clear of clouds and the crescent moon smiles at you. A night fit for a vampiress.
You are pulled from your reverie by the sound of two women. You look around and see two young sisters training against dummy’s. They must be training to become paladins like yourself.

You come closer and watch the two as they strike.
One of the girls seems like the perfect example of a paladin. Short brown hair, a stern look on her face and small breasts.
The other looked much too feminine. She kept her blonde hair in a long pony tail. Her breasts are quite large and her facial expression is much too gentle. If this girl ever completed her training and went out into the world, she would attract way too many men.
Yet both are too focused on their training to notice you. They swing their practice swords, over and over, always in the same single handed arc. Each time the swords hit, the armor the dummy is wearing gives off but a single ‘ting’.

“You should hold your sword with both hands.” You call out to the girls.
The girls pause momentarily, but then the brunette follows your advice. When her blade connects with the target, the armor the dummy is wearing finally vibrates.
“Hear that?” You say. “That’s the sound of a strong impact.”
The brunette turns to you and says “Thank you, miss. Your advice is very helpful.”
“Listen.” You say. “I don’t mind the two of you training. It is commendable that you do. But isn’t it rather late?”
“Yes well, we were training earlier today.” The blonde explains. “But the sun felt so incredibly hot, much more so then usual. And the light was stinging our eyes …”
“So me and Angela decided to rest early, then came training at night.” The brunette interrupts. “We know it’s unusual, but we just couldn’t do it the on the usual time.”
“I see.” You reply. “Has this happened before?”
“No,” Angela says. “Just today. Do you find it weird too?”
For a second you thought it might have something to do with your transformation into a vampire, but that is probably just coincidence.

“Excuse me, miss.” The brunette says. “But could it be you are a paladin?”
Angela quickly pulls the brunette’s sleeve and says “Hanna, you’re being rude.”
“As a matter of fact, I am.” You answer the girl. “Why do you ask?”
“Well, me and Angela are training to become paladins ourselves. So I was wondering if maybe you could show us something.”
