You'd gotten a tip earlier that week from one of your sources in the homeless community that something strange was going down in the warehouse district. Most of your colleagues wouldn't stoop to taking tips from the homeless, too many were just looking for handouts and made up stories, but you'd gotten good info from them in the past so you made an effort to take their tips semi-seriously.

Besides, if this payed off you were definitely getting a promotion. The source had claimed he'd seen young women being loaded onto boats by "rough looking men." He had seemed confused, kept saying the girls were calmly walking on without a fight and that something wasn't right about them, but you were used to that kind of problem with these sources. If you could bust open a human trafficking ring you would, out of common decency if nothing else, but right now all you had was the assurance of a homeless man and a gut feeling. Besides, if you could crack this open yourself you'd be advancing your career at the same time. Two birds, one stone. Everybody's happy.

Which was why you were prowling around the warehouse district dressed in black at 2:00 in the morning. You'd found something. Something big. The warehouse you'd snuck inside had been patrolled by armed men, the usual thug types, but what set your reporter senses tingling was that there were only five of them and they were doing their best to look casual. Almost like the bosses didn't want to draw attention to the building. "Would've been better not to post guards at all." you mutter under your breath as you eye the dilapidated interior, gently easing the door shut. You'd taken a couple shots so far but you still had no proof of illegal activity, you needed to press deeper. A flash of light in the next room catches your eye and you peer carefully around the cracked threshold...
