Chapter 5
by Jnightshade
What do you do?
You stay to meditate.
Arielle can more than take care of herself. You are of no use until you can find Omaraha anyway. You seek to contact your goddess. You meditate and each time you begin to find her, she slips away from you. For a brief instant you think you have opened a channel when a little scream from Harold's room, followed by groans of pleasure, tell you Arielle has returned. You drift off to sleep.
You have the first good sleep of this trip and meet companions for breakfast. All your companions, except Arielle. Harold explains she isn't feeling well. Indeed he looks a bit pale as well. Despite his tired appearance, Harold lobbies intensely for traveling across the blighted land by night. In the end he admits Arielle's contact told her something which has her quite set on traveling at night. This gives you all day to explore and find sanctuary in which to meditate.
You try in vain to channel Omaraha, finally as the time to depart nears, you give up. You meet the group. Arielle is there already briefing the group. She looks amazing. Her skin seems more alabaster than you remember it, smooth flawless. She wears a skin tight black catsuit that emphasizes more curves than you remember. Her lips are the dark red of hearts blood, and her eyes...Her eyes are alight with desire.
You feel oddly aroused and realize you haven't heard a word she has said.
"...and I want to thank everyone for agreeing to travel at night."
You begin your journey into the blighted land with the moonrise. With only a few miles hiked you realize, Arielle may have been right to want to travel at night. There are no scorpions, no snakes, and the air is cooler. You make good time.
In the early morning hours you set up camp. You wonder if you should have a chat with Arielle, chat with one of the others, or simply go to sleep.
What do you do?
