Chapter 92 - Shopping
The next morning, Rem was already waiting by the front door in a different pair of tiny black shorts and a tight tank top. She barely looked at Mike when he came downstairs.
“Let’s just get this over with,” she muttered.
Mike grabbed his keys. “You know, you could at least pretend you’re happy to see me.”
“I’m happy to leave the house.”
They stepped outside and started toward the subway. The morning streets were already busy, people heading to work and shops opening along the sidewalk. Mike kept his eyes ahead, though every so often he caught himself glancing at Rem.
He wasn't the only one. A man walking past looked at her twice. Then another person turned their head as they passed.
Rem noticed Mike looking around.
“What?”
“Nothing. People keep staring at you.”
She shrugged. “They always do.”
Mike looked at her again before quickly turning his attention back to the road. “Doesn't that bother you?”
“Not anymore.”
They continued walking, the conversation fading as the subway entrance came into view. Mike followed Rem down the street as the noise of the traffic gradually gave way to the distant rumble of trains beneath them.
A minute later they were underground, the platform air thick and warm as they stepped into the subway car. It was still half-empty at first—just a handful of people scattered along the seats—so Mike and Rem found space near the center pole without trouble. He grabbed the metal with one hand, she stood close but not touching, the usual careful distance between them.
Then the doors slid shut and the train lurched forward. At the next stop a wave of bodies poured in. Another stop and the car packed tighter still, shoulders and bags and hot breath filling every gap. By the time the third crowd shoved its way through the doors, there was nowhere left to move. Mike’s back was already against the pole; the press of people forced Rem straight into him, chest to chest, her small breasts flattening soft against his torso every time the train rocked.
She went stiff the first time it happened—shoulders locking, a quick sharp inhale—but the bodies behind her kept pushing. There was nowhere to step but she still turned around facing her back against him but then, the soft curve of her ass brushed the front of his jeans whenever someone shifted or the car swayed. Just a light, accidental graze at first. Then another. Then longer, as the crush settled and held them there.
She tried to hold herself away for a few seconds, spine rigid, but the next hard brake sent her back fully against him. Heat soaked through the thin fabric of her top into his chest. He could feel the exact shape of her—the slight give of her breasts, the rise and fall of her breathing, the way her hips rocked the tiniest bit when the train slowed. Every small movement transferred straight into him.
His cock stirred against the soft press of her ass, thickening slowly under the denim. She felt it. He knew she felt it—her whole body went rigid for a heartbeat, a quiet tension that ran from her shoulders down to where they were pressed together. But the wall of people behind her left no room to pull away. The train swayed again, deeper this time, and the contact only grew heavier, warmer, more deliberate in its accidental intimacy.
They got off two stops later and walked into the mall in silence.
Inside, Rem headed straight for a clothing store Mike followed her. She stopped in front of a low rack of folded tops, bent over to dig through them, and her shorts rode up hard. The soft underside of her ass pressed straight back against the front of Mike’s jeans—right against his half-hard cock. She stayed bent for a second longer than necessary, the warm grind of her cheeks sliding against him before she straightened with a top in hand. She didn’t look at him but her ears were pink.
They kept walking. In the next store a big red sign hung over the counter:
COUPLE DISCOUNT – 30% OFF TODAY ONLY
The cashier smiled. “Shopping together?”
Mike opened his mouth. “We’re not—”
Rem’s hand shot out and clamped around his arm. She stepped in close, pressing her side against his.
“Yes, yes, we are,” she said quickly, voice a little too bright. “Couple. Right, babe?”
She squeezed his arm hard enough that her nails dug in. Mike stared at her. She kept the fake smile locked in place until the cashier rang everything up with the discount applied. Only then did she let go and walk ahead like nothing had happened.
After that the restraint disappeared.
Rem dragged him from store to store. Crop tops, more tiny shorts, a couple of dresses that barely covered anything, shoes, accessories. Every time the total climbed she simply held out her hand for his credit card without looking at him. Mike watched the numbers go up and said nothing. By the time they left the last shop the limit was gone and he was buried under so many bags his arms ached.
The ride home was quiet. Rem sat on the opposite side of the subway car this time, scrolling on her phone like the entire afternoon hadn’t happened.
At home, May was in the living room when they walked in. She took one look at the mountain of bags and the expression on Mike’s face, and her voice went sharp. “Rem. What is all this?”
Rem shrugged, already heading for the stairs. “Shopping. You told me to go.”
May stepped in front of her. “You made him spend that much? His job is new, Rem. He just started. You can’t just drain his card like that!”
“It’s fine,” Mike said from under the bags.
“It is not fine.” May’s cheeks were flushed. The housewife dress she wore today was soft pink, the apron still tied around her waist from earlier cooking. “Apologize. Right now.”
Rem clicked her tongue, eyes rolling. “Sorry for shopping like you told me to.”
“Rem—”
But she was already halfway up the stairs, leaving Mike standing there with the bags and May looking equal parts furious and apologetic.
May turned to him, voice softer. “I’m sorry, Mike. I’ll talk to her. And… I’ll help pay some of it back.”
He just nodded, still half-buried in shopping bags, the ghost of Rem’s ass still pressed against his cock from earlier lingering in his mind like a brand.
