Which one fourth?
The oxymoronic bruiser.
Leonardo Dantellion.
Despite the Italian's rather sophisticated sounding name, the man himself couldn't be any further from a thinker if he tried. After getting the young woman to Evelyn and explaining what almost happened to her, I made my way over to the place where Leo would most likely be around this time of the early morning.
As Dickins Biotech Industries' Chief of overall security, he's usually among the first to enter and leave the company. However, there is one time where he's not at the company or in his own home. There's an old boxing gym where Leo used his salary to buy out the whole building, then turn it into his personal refuge.
It's practically a fighter's dream gym. Training dummies in the form of robotic sparring trainers. A training course where you can practice different martial disciplines based on your own style. An obstacle course where you can try to perform a timed run to get to the end the fastest. Hell, he even had a damn weight room designed specifically for increasing his enhanced inhuman physical might, including an increased gravity control setting.
Guy practically took the training manual for Son Goku's life story from the Dragon Ball series and treated it like fucking Gospel as if it were a 'how to' guide on the best ways to become an inhumane physical monster in a mortal human body. How he has not started to suffer cyber-psychosis yet is a mystery I have yet to solve. And one I doubt anyone will ever be able to.
As for getting into his little man-haunt, it was actually a bigger challenge than sneaking into just about every other place, as it wasn't so much a Cyber security as it was a physical one. His security was basically one thing and one thing only that actually made it difficult for me to sneak in for a few minutes until I figured out a work-around.
A big-ass 2,000 lb. solid titanium steel garage door. One that had to be opened manually. And only one guy had the physical strength to do it, and it wasn't me. Looking around real quick, I noticed a door bell and intercom on a simple archaic system. As in, the kind most places had replaced from almost five hundred years ago, old. Dude was seriously taking the term 'old school' a little too seriously.
Since I couldn't sneak in, and I couldn't break in, I decided on a different tactic. Pulling my leather jacket off and sending a technopathic command, I shifted it into a generic delivery boy's uniform jacket. Then making a box-crate using holographic hard-light mimicking a durable metal shipping crate to surround my 'surprise' for Leo with, I slipped on a tech mask with holographic hard-light technology. Placing it on my face, it changes my face to a slightly different one of pure Japanese features. I now look like a cybernetically-augmented sumo wrestler from the Asian community doing a part-time delivery job right now. Perfect.
Lifting up the 'surprise' while within the crate, I decide to see how my acting skills stack up. Walking up to the intercom, I start buzzing it, wait a couple of minutes, then start buzzing it again before banging my hand on the overbuilt garage door. "Konichiwa! Konichiwa! I looking for certain address, but lost. This right place for package drop-off, or I in wrong place once more?" I shout through the hunk of metal as much as the intercom in a broken Kansai dialect to sell the image of a foreigner struggling to make ends meet. As I do so, I see the camera activate as it looked at me before it slowly deactivated again.
A minute later, I hear a heavy footsteps approaching the garage door as it lifts up. Go time.
Leonardo P.O.V. Shift.
After the revelation of what happened with Eliza running away with a fucking dead man walking, I returned to my private sanctuary. I didn't sleep at all. Couldn't sleep. The memory of that video footage, the look on Eliza's face, and that smug attitude of the fucking dead man who was forcing me to watch as he knocked up my wife, right in front of my horrified eyes, at her own request...
The divorce papers being finalized a day before delivering to me was an added insult on top of this. I was in the middle of venting my rage and frustration until we manage to find that fucking dead man. As I was punching away at the training pillar composed of heavily reinforced carbon-fiber polymers and titanium-steel alloys, a loud buzzing reaches me, disturbing my thoughts as I realize it's the door bell.
I don't usually receive packages here, but I did have some things shipped here before. I frown as a couple minutes later the buzzing occurs again as the intercom suddenly picks up and I activate the camera to see who it is.
"Konichiwa! Konichiwa! I looking for certain address, but lost. This right place for package drop-off, or I in wrong place once more?"
And the sight is of a large slightly-bumbling Jap. Man looks built for sumo. Must have been new, considering he was seeming a little worried. Must be afraid he's going to get fired if he screws up too much. Must really have it rough.
Walking through the gym back to the front, it takes me a couple minutes to get there before I open up the front to meet him face to face, and by God, he's a bigger guy than me! He actually has a half-foot about on me, yet he still seems real nervous. Seeing me open the door, he speaks up once more.
"Arigato, sir! Can you tell me where address is? I have deliveries to make, and do not wish to anger boss. Tell me this very important client. Can you check here and tell me where address is? I no used to this area."
A very broken Kansai dialect makes me see this guy must be a recent immigrant. The Sumo circuits back in Japan haven't exactly had much popularity as of late, so it's possible this guy moved here in an attempt to start a new life, only to suffer some bad employers.
"Let me take a look..." I check his digital clipboard and notice with my brows raised that this was this exact address listed. "...yeah, this is the right address. Must be something I ordered a couple months back that finally got in. They told me there was a backlog for these bigger packages due to not having anyone able to deliver them. Too much weight, not enough lift. So you should be safe there."
A relieved look came over the guys face. "Arigato, sir. Domo arigato. I need job. I need it badly. I no afford to lose it. Where you like me put it, sir?"
I direct him to follow me, then have him place it on the floor next to the boxing ring. "Set it down right there."
"Hai." Setting it down carefully, to avoid hurting himself as much as damaging what's inside most likely, he then pulls out an electronic datapad and hands it to me. "Sign, please. I need it so boss know I deliver package."
Signing for the package, I hand it back to him. He bows respectfully and politely to me once I do.
"Domo arigato, sir. I need go now. More packages to deliver. Running behind already. Can't delay any longer than did."
Waving goodbye as he walked out of my sanctuary, I watch as he starts to look around as he makes his way out of the neighborhood and back into the constsnt grind of the daily life of a delivery boy in Neo-Detroit. As I move to the package, I then open the crate up and-
Third-Person P.O.V. Shift
BOOOOOM!!
The private gym that was Leonardo Dantellion's personal sanctuary suddenly explodes into a fireball of high-incendiary shrapnel and a hard-like blade that shoved into his guts and left his large body impaled to a wall. The supposed 'delivery boy' simply removed his mask, shifted his jacket back to what it was originally, and left as a ghost that would never be found, as the 'delivery boy' did not exist.
By the time the fire department put out the blaze and police went over the scene, they'd find Leonardo's scorched black body, crippled for life, and barely clinging to his own. he'd be in a coma for a full month before finally dying, the last words he'd utter would confuse the police and firefighters who found him before his coma, who didn't realize the blade shoved into his chest infected a virus into his Cyberware forcing them out of his mouth...
