new boots
The hours leading up to the evening dragged like thick tar.
Loona had positioned me precisely where looking away was an impossibility: two meters from the heavy front door, dead center on the hallway floorboards. Upright on my knees, hands laced behind my back, head held high.
She went about her afternoon with effortless indifference. Reading on the sofa, murmuring quietly into the phone with a friend, sipping coffee, while I wasn't permitted to give up an inch of posture. The cold alloy of the cylinder served as my relentless metronome: every minor lapse in form sliced with biting severity into the bruised, glued tissue. The encrusted residue of Nadja’s and Loona’s saliva pulled across my cheekbones like a physical brand with every blink.
Outside, the grey Saturday faded into pitch-black night. Every distant step in the stairwell, every slamming door in the building sent my heart knocking violently against my ribs.
Shortly before seven, Loona stepped into the hallway. She had changed into a tailored black dress, her dark hair swept smooth, her lips subtly painted. She studied me with the detached satisfaction of a sculptor inspecting a finished piece.
"Almost time, John," she said softly, stepping close. Her fingers caught beneath my chin, tilting my face an inch higher. "When the buzzer rings, you stay down. You do not look her in the face. Your eyes belong to her feet. You greet her as precisely what you are: her living doormat."
"Yes, Loona," I whispered through a parched throat.
At 7:00 PM on the dot, the shrill, double buzz of the intercom shattered the stillness.
The sound hit me like an electric shock. My abdomen locked in a sudden spasm, the cylinder pulling sharply at the dried mess inside, the blood rushing hot and heavy to my cheeks.
With slow, unhurried steps, Loona walked past me to the door. She pressed the handle down and pulled the heavy wood inward.
Standing on the threshold was Nadja.
She wore an elegant, tailored wool coat in camel, her blonde hair falling loose over her shoulders, her sea-blue eyes flashing bright before she even uttered a syllable. A rich, heady fragrance of expensive perfume and crisp autumn air poured into the hallway.
Yet my gaze was drawn down as if by magnetic pull.
On her feet was what she had promised that morning: brand-new, knee-high boots of smooth, pitch-black leather, balanced on razor-sharp stiletto heels that left a hard, metallic click against the parquet as she crossed the sill. Clinging to the soles and the pointed toes was the damp, gritty grime of the Berlin pavements.
Nadja stepped inside without honoring me with a direct glance. Brushing past Loona with an airy kiss to the cheek, she stopped directly before me—so close that the leather tip of her right boot planted down mere inches from my bare knees.
"Good evening, Loona," Nadja murmured in a silky, amused drawl. Then her gaze drifted downward to where I crouched naked, bent, and marked upon the floorboards. A sharp, predatory smile broke across her painted lips.
"Well, look at that," she purred, her tone laced with pure poison. "He really did spend the entire day in my spit. Not a single drop washed away."
Without warning, she lifted her right foot, planting the heavy, wet leather sole squarely over my left thigh.
The cold street grime and the dampness of the hide dug heavily into bare flesh. The shock drove straight through my pelvis into the cylinder, tilting the alloy sharply against the bone under her shifted weight.
"Well, John?" Nadja whispered from above, leaning her full weight onto the raised leg, pinning me down into the wood. "Did you miss my new boots?"
The downward force of the boot bore down relentlessly. The narrow heel sank deep into the muscle of my thigh, while the cold moisture of the sole and the abrasive street grit burned against raw skin.
"Good evening… Mistress Nadja," I managed hoarsely, keeping my eyes fixed on the gleaming black leather. My voice strained with the effort, every muscle in my legs fighting against the load to keep from buckling outward.
Loona pushed the front door shut with a solid click, leaning back against the frame with folded arms, watching the tableau with cool detachment.
"He's been waiting for it since this morning," Loona remarked offhandedly. "Not a murmur, not a shift. He knows precisely who delivered his lesson yesterday."
Nadja shifted her weight further forward. Her hand slid under my chin, manicured nails forcing my head up, past the leather shaft of the boots and straight into her face.
"Look at this face," she said to Loona, her thumb grazing over the crusted tracks along my cheek. "He wears it like war paint. As if he's proud that we marked him."
Tilting her head slightly, she appraised the dried mask she had left yesterday, gathering saliva behind her teeth.
"Then we can't let it dry out tonight, can we?"
Without a second's warning, she spat directly into my face. Warm, accurate, striking dead center on my cheek and the corner of my mouth, where the old layer already sat like hardened varnish. A second, shorter spray hit my forehead, trickling slowly toward my brow. The scent of her—wine, mint, and perfume—fused with the dust that had coated my skin all day.
Heat flared behind my forehead. Not from the wetness, but from the fact that I didn't turn away. Because part of me already knew that this was the greeting I had been anticipating since the morning, and because the steel below hammered uselessly against the confinement in response.
Nadja smoothed her thumb through the fresh moisture, smearing it, blending the old crust seamlessly into the new.
"Better," she murmured. "Now at least there's no doubt that I'm actually here."
She released my chin abruptly, letting my head drop, and ground her foot down against my thigh—a slow, twisting motion that dragged the wet street sand like coarse sandpaper across my skin.
"The leather is still stiff, John," she purred. "And Berlin pavements are filthy. It would be a crime to walk across Loona's living room rug with dirty soles, don't you think?"
"Yes… Mistress Nadja," I wheezed through clenched teeth.
"The rags and brushes stay in the cupboard," Loona interjected from the doorframe. Her voice was clinical, cutting through the room like a scalpel. "He already scrubbed the floors like a scullery maid today. For your boots, he can use something far more personal."
A low, smoky laugh tumbled from Nadja. Drawing her foot from my thigh—leaving a dark, damp impression of soot and grit stamped into the reddened skin—she planted the pointed toe right before my lips.
"You heard her," Nadja ordered. "No cloth. Use your tongue. The toes first, then the welts, until the very last grain of dirt is gone. And once the leather shines, I'll lift my foot for the sole."
My stomach seized tight. The sharp smell of wet asphalt, bitumen, shoe polish, and the dense hide hit me all at once, tangled with the sweet vanilla of her perfume. Trapped inside the cage, the flesh surged in a blind, futile wave, striking hard against the steel bars only to be ground flat against the edges of the tube. The humiliation burned so hot that blood roared in my ears—yet the thought of resistance never even surfaced.
I lowered my head forward.
The tip of the boot tasted cold, salty, and bitter with road dust. My tongue glided across the smooth leather, working away the dried grime, following the fine welt line with careful precision.
"Harder," Nadja critiqued from above, resting a hand on my shoulder for balance, shifting her toes slightly within the boot. "Buff it, John. Show Loona how useful that tongue can be when you aren't begging for release."
Loona took a step closer, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with Nadja, looking down at my bowed back. Her hand drifted downward to close firmly around the cold housing of my cylinder, tugging it minutely upward so that every sweep of my tongue was synchronized with a dull, throbbing ache at my pubic bone.
"Very good," Loona whispered above me. "Every grain, John. Until she is completely satisfied."
I worked forward millimeter by millimeter, caught between the street grime coating my tongue, the unrelenting hand clamped around my seal, and the two women standing over me in the warm light of the hallway, treating my absolute unraveling as an ordinary Saturday evening routine.
The bitter taste of grit, road grime, and chemical leather dressing seared into my tongue. Swallowing dryly, I didn't dare hesitate, working the curve of the toe cap with firm, even strokes until the matte black gave way to a slick, wet gleam.
Nadja shifted her weight slightly, leaning a hand casually against Loona’s shoulder, savoring the stillness of the room.
"Look how thorough he gets when you strip away every other option," Nadja remarked, her eyes resting cold and amused on the back of my head. "All that attitude yesterday, and today he's polishing street dirt like a professional."
Loona kept her firm grip locked onto the cylinder. The upward pull didn't slacken an inch; every forward reach of my neck dragged against pinched tissue, keeping the rhythmic burn of submission alive.
"He learns quickly when the consequences are immediate," Loona replied with that clinical, almost detached serenity that made my blood run cold. "He spent the entire day understanding that his body is no longer his own. That every single nerve pathway he recited this morning answers only to my permission."
Nadja slowly lifted her right foot, holding the stiletto suspended in the air, bending her knee. The treaded rubber of the sole, embedded with fine gravel and dark streaks from the wet pavement, faced squarely toward my chest.
"The sole, John," she commanded coolly. "Dig the gravel out of the grooves. Use your fingernails if you have to—but I want that tread spotless before this shoe takes a single step onto Loona's living room rug."
Reaching forward with both hands, I took hold of the hard rubber edges, drawing the sole carefully closer to my face. With my fingertips, I picked the wedged pebbles from the deep treads, catching the loose grit in the palm of my hand, cleaning the tighter grooves with my tongue wherever my fingers were too clumsy to reach. The contrast was absolute: two immaculately dressed, perfectly groomed women conversing offhandedly under the warm hallway light, while I crouched in the dirt at their feet, erasing their tracks.
"Not bad," Nadja murmured as I lowered the first shoe and turned toward the left. She trailed the free toe across my shoulder, mapping the curve of my neck, guiding my head smoothly toward the second boot. "And don't forget the ankle seam. A car splashed water over it on the way here."
"Yes… Mistress Nadja," I breathed against the heavy calfskin.
The work on the second boot dragged out like an eternity. My knees had long gone numb against the hard timber, my lower back burned from holding the pose, and inside the steel housing the trapped flesh throbbed in a steady, inescapable ache. The dried seal from yesterday, that fine crust of saliva and humiliation across my cheeks, pulled tight with every movement of my jaw.
When the last trace of grime was removed and the leather caught the ceiling light in deep, clean reflections, Nadja stepped back half a pace. Inspecting the footwear with a critical eye, she gave a slow nod and offered Loona a satisfied smile.
"Splendid," she said. "You've trained him remarkably well, Loona. For the moment, he qualifies as a proper doormat."
Loona finally released the cylinder. The sudden drop in tension sent a sharp throb radiating through my groin, forcing a deep breath into my lungs. But before I could brace my hands against the floorboards, she placed her palm over the crown of my head, pressing me down until my forehead rested flat against the parquet.
"Into the living room," Loona commanded evenly, turning to lead Nadja down the hall. "On all fours in front of the sofa. Flatten yourself out like a cushion, John. Nadja is going to put her feet up, and you are going to ensure they stay warm."
"Follow every word," Nadja whispered, her freshly polished heel clicking past within a hair's breadth of my hand as she moved into the living room. The sharp strike of her heels against the timber heralded the next act of the evening.
I remained still for a single heartbeat, the bitter tang of leather lingering on my tongue, before pushing myself slowly forward on hands and knees, following the two women into the dim light of the adjoining room.
