hand over the key
The smell of formalin and disinfectant hung heavy in the cool air of the dissecting hall. All around me hummed the brisk, clinical murmur of dozens of medical students. White coats, latex gloves, the crisp clatter of scalpels and forceps against stainless-steel trays. It was a sterile, rational world where the human body was systematically dismantled into nerve pathways, vessels, and muscle tracts.
And right in the middle of it all stood me. Outwardly, the focused prospective physician, poring over the situs of a dissected torso, tracing the delicate branches of the superior mesenteric artery.
Yet beneath that layer of heavy white cotton and dark blue denim, reality was entirely unmoored.
Every slight shift of weight on the hard swivel stool sent a wave of dull pain radiating into my lower back. The twenty raised welts from Loona’s braided leather crop burned like raw fire against the stiff denim. Worse still was the stainless-steel cylinder: each time I leaned forward over the specimen, the rigid base ring ground mercilessly against my bruised pubic bone. The metal had long since warmed to body heat, throbbing with every shallow breath, serving as a brutal, physical reminder that my body was not my own to command.
Shortly after ten, my hand slipped into the pocket of my lab coat. My fingers curled around my smartphone.
A shiver tracked down the back of my neck. I had to be meticulously careful. If a single person caught so much as a stray glance of that display, my respectable life would be obliterated on the spot.
Shielding the screen with my torso, I angled myself halfway toward the tiled wall and gently thumbed the side button.
The display flared to life.
The breath caught in my throat. Right there, stark under the blinding neon glare of the dissection hall, the image from last night stared back at me in razor-sharp detail: my own exposed backside, thrust high, striped with angry red tracks from Loona’s crop, crowned by the burning taper candle perched upright between my cheeks. A ridiculous, thoroughly subjugated centerpiece.
Right above it sat a new notification preview. It was from Loona, sent precisely at 10:04 AM:
*"Key handed over. Nadja and I are grabbing a coffee afterward. 3:00 PM at my place. Be on time, and strip in the hallway."*
The words burned through my mind like caustic acid. They had the key. Nadja had placed it directly into her palm on campus mere minutes ago. The two of them were sitting together, chatting about me, choreographing the afternoon—while I stood here in a medical coat, performing the model student.
"Hey, John."
The voice struck like the snap of a whip. A jolt of panic seized my chest; the phone nearly slipped through my fingers, and I shoved the screen flat against my thigh as the blood drained completely from my face.
I spun around.
It was Mira.
I had met her just a few weeks ago during the introductory tutorial sessions—sharp, ambitious, carrying a direct, effortless ease that never failed to put me on edge. Her lab coat hung open over a fitted turtleneck sweater, her dark hair loosely swept back, her eyes resting on me with casual curiosity.
"A bit jumpy today, aren't we?" she noted, tilting her head as she took in my rigid posture. Her gaze dipped down along my arm to where my hand was still clamped hard over my pocket. "Everything alright with you? You seem miles away."
My heart pounded with such violence against my ribs that I feared she might actually hear it through the noise of the room. Beneath the cloth, the steel cage bore down hard into inflamed tissue. Adrenaline surged through my veins—the raw terror that an innocent, ordinary peer might catch the faintest whiff of the grotesque reality playing out beneath my academic facade.
"Yeah… everything's fine," I forced out, willing my voice into a steady, neutral register. "Just… an update from home. Just need to get my head back into the dissection."
Mira studied me for another searching beat, a faint, understanding smile touching the corners of her mouth.
"You look seriously wound tight, John," she murmured, gesturing loosely toward my station with the handle of her anatomical forceps. "Don't let it get to you; the oral exam pressure gets to everyone. Just don't burn yourself out."
Turning back to her table, she resumed working with her instruments, utterly oblivious to the dark precipice standing less than two meters away.
I let out an unsteady breath, my knees feeling hollow.
I slid the phone deep into my trouser pocket, where the hard casing pressed flat against the steel cylinder. The wall clock at the far end of the hall read a quarter past ten.
Nearly five hours left. Five endless hours of acting the normal university student—while the countdown ran toward the exact second when, at three sharp, I would drop to my knees naked before Loona and Nadja.
The remaining hours in the hall dragged like thick tar. Every time a pair of forceps clattered against a metal tray, a sharp reflex twitched in my groin. The cylinder sat like a heated vice between my thighs, and the twenty welts across my seat burned hotter against the denim with every shift on the stool. By the time the hands of the wall clock finally clicked to a quarter to three, the collar of my coat was damp with cold sweat.
Packing my dissection kit with trembling hands, I offered Mira a brief, strained nod and hurried out into the bite of the autumn wind.
Every stride over the pavement delivered a physical reminder of my confinement. The subway ride passed in a blur of sensory overload; I kept my eyes pinned to the floor between my shoes, counting the stops in silence.
At precisely 2:58 PM, I stood before our apartment door. My pulse hammered violently against my temples.
I turned the key without a sound and slipped inside. Through the wide opening leading into the living room drifted muted laughter, accompanied by the delicate clinking of porcelain cups. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingled with Loona’s familiar sandalwood and that rich, intoxicating vanilla note that unmistakably belonged to Nadja.
They were both here.
I didn't hesitate for a second. Loona's instruction had brooked no delay: *"Strip in the hallway."*
With clammy fingers, I worked the buttons of my shirt, tore it off, and dropped it onto the hallway bench. Unbuckling my belt, I shucked my jeans and socks together, standing completely bare in the dim vestibule. Inside its steel housing, the flesh was hot, marked, and intensely overstimulated from hours of unrelenting pressure. The edges of the cylinder bit deep into my skin.
Dropping to all fours, the cool parquet meeting my bare knees, I crawled slowly forward across the threshold into the living room.
They were seated side by side on the sofa.
Loona sat upright, legs crossed with tailored poise, a white porcelain cup cradled in her hand, the detached authority of a magistrate in her dark eyes. Beside her, Nadja lounged against the upholstery with provocative ease, her feet—sheathed in sheer black tights—propped on the coffee table, a mocking, predatory smirk resting on her dark red lips. Resting on a narrow ribbon between the cups on the glass table was the small piece of brass. The key.
"Punctual to the minute," Loona remarked, her voice quiet and sharp. She took a measured sip of coffee without breaking eye contact. "Come closer, John. Right in front of the table. On your knees, chest up, arms crossed behind your back."
I crawled to the edge of the rug, levering myself upright onto my knees, crossing my wrists behind my lower back. My pelvis was pushed forward, completely exposed. The cold alloy of the cylinder stood out like a monument in the warm afternoon light.
Nadja leaned forward, resting her elbows on her knees, taking me in from head to toe. Her eyes lingered over the stubborn red pressure marks and the dark, raised stripes standing in sharp relief against my pale skin.
"Look at him," Nadja purred, her tone dripping with derision. "Shivering on my rug yesterday like a pathetic little wreck, playing the proper academic today—and now he's right back on his knees where he belongs. He looks like he's about to detonate."
"He will not," Loona replied dryly, fixing her gaze squarely on me. "Speak, John. Look at Nadja. You will give her a full account of your day, word for word. What went through you on the train? What crossed your mind when that woman bumped into you? And what did you think when you unlocked your screen in the lecture hall?"
A tight knot formed in my throat. Naked shame burned hotter than every strike from the evening before. I was forced to look straight into Nadja’s blue eyes—the very eyes that had watched me dismantled on the floor, that had held me pinned beneath her weight.
"I…," my voice fractured, dropping into a hoarse whisper. "I was terrified. When that woman brushed against me on the train… I thought she felt the metal. That she'd realize what I was."
"And?" Nadja probed with a smirk, lifting an arch brow as she tucked a strand behind her ear. "Were you ashamed?"
"Yes," I forced out, my pulse thundering in my ears. "But… it was worse than that. I wanted it. I wanted her to see. I… I couldn't stop staring at a woman's boots in the carriage. I wanted to drop to the floor in front of everyone and lick the leather clean."
A sharp, smoky laugh broke from Nadja. "God, Loona, you were completely right. He's hopelessly hooked. A proper little addict."
"He has zero control over himself," Loona said coldly, setting her cup down and rising smoothly from the cushions. "Which is precisely why he requires this lock. Isn't that right, John?"
"Yes, Loona," I wheezed, powerless to look away.
Loona stepped before me, and in the same instant Nadja slid from the sofa onto her knees, pressing close against my left flank. Suddenly I was bracketed between them, the mingling scents of their perfume crowding the air from my lungs.
Nadja reached out, her manicured nails trailing across my temple, drifting slowly down the side of my neck to dig lightly, playfully into my shoulder.
"He's burning up," Nadja whispered against my ear, her warm breath brushing my cheek. "Feel how hard his heart is hammering."
Loona offered no spoken reply. She crouched directly before me. Her cool, steady fingers mapped my thighs, tracing along the inner seam before closing around the steel casing.
A sharp, raspy sound tore from my throat. The contrast between Nadja’s soft warmth at my neck and Loona’s absolute hold on my confinement obliterated the last vestige of restraint in my mind.
"Be still," Loona commanded, her fingertips finding the open slots of the cylinder with surgical precision, right where the swollen, darkened tissue strained against the bars. She applied a minute fraction of pressure, a rhythmic, imperceptible shift against trapped, raw nerve endings. "Do not move. And do not dare to come."
"Loona… please…," I stammered in naked desperation, my hips twitching on pure reflex. After hours of unyielding compression, the tissue inside was so hyper-sensitized that the mere touch of her fingertips felt like live wires piercing my nervous system. "I… I can't… I can't hold it…"
"Hold it," she hissed, her eyes locking onto mine without an ounce of pity. "Force your body to obey me."
There was nothing left to hold with. The combination of Nadja’s taunting breath on my neck, Loona’s cool grip on the metal, and the crushing, total exposure of this confession tipped the scales beyond recovery.
My body collapsed from the inside out.
"No… no!" I choked out, throwing my head back as my abdominal wall seized in violent spasms.
A muffled, hollow thud rattled through my groin. The trapped flesh bucked with furious, desperate intent, fighting for space to expand—only to be instantly crushed by the rigid steel rings. The ejaculation tore through, but it brought no release, no cleansing wave of relief. It was a mutilated, ruined climax: a sharp, searing ache ripping along the urethra, followed by an incomplete, numbed pulse as the fluid sprayed hot and thick against the interior metal walls, oozing sluggishly through the slots.
I slumped forward, shivering violently, forehead pressed to the cool carpet, fighting to draw air.
A heavy silence descended over the room.
Then came Nadja’s soft, amused chuckle. "Is that really it? He couldn't even manage a minute. How pathetic."
The word took root before a hand even touched me. *Pathetic.* Not just because she uttered it, but because in that instant I believed it completely: the ruined release in the steel, the heat that had offered no catharsis, merely an uncontrolled spill before two women sipping afternoon coffee. The shame didn't manifest as a thought; it arrived as a burning flush across my face, a constriction in my throat, a desperate wish to sink through the floorboards—coupled with the darker, far more toxic desire for them to keep watching.
Loona didn't pull her hand away to wipe it clean. She held her wet fingers up to the afternoon light, regarding the sticky residue stringing between her thumb and index finger, then glanced over at Nadja.
"Come here," she said evenly. "He made this mess. He can clean it."
Nadja laughed softly, shifting closer on her knees to run two fingers along the lower curve of the cylinder, where the warm, slick moisture was pooling between the bars. Every touch against the metal felt like a finger pressed into an open wound. I knew what was coating their hands. I knew what I was about to taste. Disgust and craving were braided so tightly together that they had become indistinguishable.
Loona seized the back of my neck, pulling my head up. Looking away was out of the question. I met her eyes, caught the cruel amusement playing on Nadja’s lips, saw the porcelain cups on the table, and the key that no one was giving to me.
"Mouth open. Tongue out. Lick my fingers clean first, then hers. Then keep your mouth open. You do not swallow until I give the word."
I obeyed, because obedience was the only architecture left standing when my pride had fallen. Her fingers slipped across my tongue—bitter, salty, unmistakably myself, laced with the metallic tang of the alloy. Heat rose behind my eyes: not merely shame over the taste, but the deeper shame that I closed my lips and licked instead of jerking away. That part of me was genuinely grateful to still be given a function to perform.
"Keep going," Loona murmured. "She touched you, too."
Nadja’s fingers followed, less patient, pressing deeper. I tasted her, and myself, and the lock, my mind flashing back to the lecture hall, to Mira, to the crisp white coat—realizing that this same mouth had been discussing anatomy an hour ago. The degradation was so total it became strangely quiet. A heavy, burning certainty: *This is what I am now. This is what they see. This is what I allow.*
When both sets of fingers were licked clean, Loona kept her grip pinned to my neck, leaning in until her eyes filled my vision.
"Stay open."
Drawing saliva, she spat directly into my open mouth—warm, deliberate, unhurried. A second spit struck my cheek and jaw, trickling down toward my lips. A reflexive urge tried to make me recoil, to close my mouth. I didn't. Shame boiled behind my eyes, hot and stinging, and beneath it lay that other layer I could no longer deny: that keeping my mouth open for this made my trapped flesh throb against the steel far harder than the ruined orgasm ever had.
Nadja leaned in from the other side, letting out a soft laugh before following suit: first onto my tongue, then across my forehead and cheek, until it mingled with what was already running down my face. Her laughter cut deeper than the moisture. I was their entertainment. I was their afternoon divertissement. The curiosity one shakes one's head at while refusing to look away.
"Swallow," Loona commanded. "Everything in your mouth. The rest stays where it landed. You don't wipe a single drop."
I swallowed. The taste lingered. The moisture cooled against my face, every fraction of an inch feeling like a brand not meant for me, but for them—a visual ledger of what had become of the man who had unlocked the front door at 2:58 sharp.
Loona wiped her fingers dry against my bottom lip and stepped back. Nadja ran her thumb across my wet cheek, not to clean it, but to smear it further across the skin. I could have wept. Instead, I only shivered, holding their gaze, because looking away was a dignity I no longer possessed in this room.
"Precisely what I anticipated," Loona said with razor-sharp composure, glancing over at the side table where the key lay untouched on its ribbon. "Not a shred of discipline. You drowned in your own weakness, John."
She left me there on my knees, mouth empty, face wet. The humiliation was no longer confined to my skin; it saturated my entire body, heavy and warm, and somewhere beneath it all, pressed hard against the steel, the same miserable *yes* kept beating.
"The padlock stays shut. For today, for tonight—and quite possibly for the entire weekend. You will sit in your own mess until you learn what it means to wait for my permission."
