Konohamaru Went To The Nara Clan Compound

Walking out of the Hokage building, after a quick trip to the bounty office to collect on the bounties for the Akatsuki members that he took down, Konohamaru took a breath before making a Shadow Clone to help direct Karin and the others to his place for now, telling Naruto and Sasuke to obey for Karin, Udon and Moegi for now as Naruto nodded with that as he took ahold of Karin’s hand as Sasuke had to take Karin’s other hand though was a little intimidated by her as they went off with Konohamaru’s clone while Shikamaru was led off by Moegi and Udon to head back to Konohamaru’s place while Konohamaru walked off in the direction to the Clan district…

Coming up to the Clan estate held by the Nara Clan, Konohamaru soon walked through the gates of the main house, walking past other Nara clansmen, some of them recognizing him as he walked up to where the main Clan heads would reside and soon walked through the doors after informing the guard there as to why he was here and who he needed to speak with…

When Konohamaru walked through the doors of the main chamber he was greeted with the sight of Yoshino Nara and her and Shikaku Naras parents respectively sitting at the other end of the room in front of ornate-looking tables.

He recognized the young-looking woman from when he had visited the clan quarters previously to find his uncle teaching her son. And it seemed he too had managed to remain in the current clan head's memory.

“Ah, Konohamaru, what a lovely surprise. I have heard about your recent impressive showcase at the Chunin exams. I was sadly not able to attend as I had to pick up the slack of that lazy oaf of a husband I got, but let me tell you the last time I saw him, Asuma was very much gushing in his pride over your accomplishments. If my own son was half as motivated lord only knows what he could accomplish” she let out an annoyed sigh before noticing the uncomfortable look on the boy's face.

“I am sorry to inform you miss Nara but the reason for my visit to you is not merely a courteous one. There has been an incident involving your son and husband, as well as my uncle” it brought Konohamaru no joy to retell the young mother what had transpired mere hours ago.

The silent tears that ran down her face when she heard of her husband's passing and the quiet sob quickly stifled in an attempt to remain dignified broke his heart. When he had to inform Yoshino about Shikamaru's disgraceful display afterward, it had left a sour taste in his mouth, like a disappointed older sibling or brother despite him not really knowing the Shinobi all that well despite some occasional meetings when visiting his uncle.

The sight of Yoshino not only benign confronted with the fact that her husband had died fighting the Akatruski, but that her one and only son had thrown himself at the feet of his fathers killer and begged for his life brought shock and disgust to the faces of all people sitting in the room, both pair of grandparents of Shikamaru and his mother alike realizing the truth of his words.

He would have never lied about this sort of tragedy or besmirched Sikamaru's name without just cause. And this made it all the worse for everybody gathered.

“I am so sorry Miss Nara for not having arrived sooner than I did” to which Yoshino forcefully rubbed away the tears from her face and said with a voice trembling with rage and sadness alike “no, do not apologize to me Konohamaru. If there is anybody at fault for today's actions it is most certainly is not you. The fault lies with me for not being sterner on the boy… on the coward I have allowed to act like the lazy fool for way too long.

It lies with Shikaku for allowing the boy the same leniency. It lies with Shikamaru himself for disgracing the village and the memory of his dead father and Sensei” her tears began to run again as she cast an apologetic look toward the young Shinobi, only now realizing that her son's actions had cost him his uncles life.

Standing up she walked closer to the boy before hugging him into her chest, making the young blush as he was pushed between her breasts before shocking him by kneeling before him “as the current head of the Nara clan I must ask for your forgiveness when it comes to the shame that my son has brought upon our clan.

Rest assured neither I know the boys grandparents will attempt to hide what he has done and bring further shame upon our name by pretending he was anything less than a coward. He shall be severely punished. He is no logner fit to be a Ninja, much less a Chunnin and I promise you I will have Tsunade take away his headband if it is the last thing I do. He will no longer be the clan head. That would be the death of the clan I can see that now. I do not know who will have me but I will have to seek a second husband and hope the gods grace me with a better heir” her hands grabbed her knees tightly as she kneeled.

“The boy will need a father in his life, a man sterner than Shikaku or even me to help whip him into shape” when she looked up to beg for Konoahmarus forgiveness again she found the boy with an awkward blush on his face and rubbing the back of his neck.

“Actually Miss Nara… Yoshino… I have an idea that could help us both…” as the young man drifted off to explain the older woman his plans, he did not know that several of the younger members of the clan where eavesdropping on the conversation with ashocked faces and then snickers as they soon spread tales of what had transpired inside the room across the clan compound and then later on the village.

Not only about Shikamaru's disgraceful actions and his soon-to-be removal from the Shinobi forces, but Konohamaru's proposal of Yoshino Nara to marry Konohamaru and make him the boy's stepfather…

As that was going on in the Nara household, Konohamaru’s shadow clone was quick to lead them over to Konohamaru’s place, the Sarutobi Clan had shrunk in significant numbers during the 2nd and 3rd Shinobi World Wars, so they didn’t have much in regards to a large estate, having sold off a good amount of their land and buildings to other clans in the general vicinity, but they did have a good sized main house still to their disposal and some surrounding land around it…

With them led there, Konohamaru’s clone soon popped with Udon and Moegi taking over more of the watch as they led them all inside, putting Naruto, Sasuke and Shikamaru under their watch, and making all three of them have to play with the toys here as they watched over them like little kids…

Sasuke and Shikamaru were a little reluctant, but a glare from Karin at them both were good enough to scare them into submission and to get them into playing like kids, Naruto being more familiar with this than he’d like, due to him getting involved with playing with the kids at the Academy during breaks and getting bullied if he wasn’t under the protection of Moroni-sama…

So he took a lead in the mandated playtime session between the three of them a bit, trying to put himself in a position of seniority between them as he had the most experience in the situation they were in right now and led the playtime session, trying to get some enjoyment out of their situation as they were being watched over by Karin, Moegi and Udon to make sure that they were ‘behaving appropriately’, which was code for ‘act like the little kids you’re going to be from now on’, so Naruto made sure that Sasuke and Shikamaru knew what was going to be ahead of them in their future…

“I have been with the Boss for the longest so be sure to listen to me when it comes to the future alright? You can think of me as another big bro to look up to if you like” Naruto said before being fixed by a glare from Karin.

“Behave yourself Naruto-chan, if anybody dictates the hierarchy then it is Konohamaru. It is nice that you want to help your fellow backslider's buddies understand their new position, but don't make me or your boss punish you because your ego goes out of control alright?” she chided him with a dangerous glint in her eyes although her face was giving hi ma sympathetic smile. Perhaps it was the Uzumaki lineage in her, but she could not help but go easy on Naruto. Lord only knew what she would have done if Sasuke had tried to pull a similar stunt after he had disappointed her as he did via outing himself as the huge crybaby he had secretly always been.

Shaking a bit on the spot and sweating profusely Naruto quickly nodded his head “y-yeah Miss Karin, sorry Miss Karin, please don't tell the boss” before quickly returning towards Sasuke and Shikamaru and grumbling under his breath towards them “I am still the one that knows the boss the longest and has the most experience with our new status so even though you don't HAVE to listen to me, you probably should got it?” after some uneasy stares where exchanged between the pair the gave a small nod to make naruto continue.

Shikamaru was way too grateful for his life benign saved and ashamed of his own cowardice to even think about slacking off as he usually did. If he disappointed his Senseis nephew after he had to save him and his team like he did he could never sleep soundly again.

Sasuke was by now full on in the same sort of big brother worship mode that he was with Itachi, only increased by orders of magnitude after Konohamaru had practically shattered his fake persona via easily taking care of Itachi for Sasuke and acting as his protector from now on.

As they sat attentively listening to Naruto give them a rundown of his experiences with their new upcoming lifestyle, Karin, Udon, and Moegi looked on from the sideline while not being able to keep themselves from staring at the scene in front of them with smiles in their faces. Especially Udon and Moegi were very proud of how much their pupil had adapted to his new status, even though he sometimes still thought too highly of himself…
