Start you day with Sarah

Sarah eventually came out of the bathroom, ready to go.

“All set,” she said.

I stood up from the couch. “You look great.”

She smiled. “Thanks. Ready?”

“Yeah.”

We headed out and started the day together.

Our first stop was a few stores Sarah wanted to check out. She browsed through clothes, tried on a few things, and eventually found a couple of things she liked. I followed along, carrying the bags and giving my opinion whenever she asked for it.

Afterward, we stopped for lunch at a casual restaurant nearby.

It was nice having a normal day together. We talked about school, graduation, and what we wanted to do once senior year was over. Sarah seemed genuinely happy to have the day with me.

After lunch, we decided on one final activity before heading back.

Ice skating.

“I haven’t been skating in forever,” Sarah said as we walked toward the rink.

“Same.”

She laughed. “So we’re probably going to be terrible.”

“We’ll find out.”

We rented our skates and stepped onto the ice.

Sarah immediately grabbed my hand.

“Don’t let me fall.”

“I’ve got you.”

She smiled and leaned closer as we slowly made our way around the rink.

For a while, everything else disappeared.

No school.

No distance.

No complicated conversations.

Just Sarah and me, skating around the rink together and enjoying the little time we had before she had to leave.
