Who Are We Following?
The Sanctuary

Ian and Claire Richards is a gorgeous white couple who have been living in New Atlanta for nearly 5 years and have thus far remained unmolested by the city’s strange laws. That’s because they live in a special economic zone known as “The Sanctuary.”
Since its inception, New Atlanta has always had chronic labor shortages, particularly among skilled professionals. Most people outside of new Atlanta loathed to be under its archaic laws and so seldom wanted to move there. In recent decades however, the city finally acknowledged the problem and authorized the zoning of a special economic zone within the city that would exclude Dibs Law from effect. Residency in this zone was targeted towards out-of-state professionals who had come to New Atlanta to work.
Residents of the Sanctuary are also provided IDs and paperwork that establishes their protected status so they are protected even if they venture to other parts of the city.
Ian and Claire Richards moved their family to New Atlanta’s Sanctuary Zone about 5 years ago when Ian accepted a position with Andreas Inc., which was a prominent tech company headquartered in California, but who had opened a secondary headquarters in New Atlanta for tax reasons.
Ian had worked at a Californian division of Andreas Inc. for nearly a decade. When the company offered him the new role at New Atlanta, it came with perks through the roof and was just too good to pass up. Ian’s wife, Claire also agreed that it was a wise move for the family. It practically ensures an early retirement for the couple.
Ian’s wife, Claire was a doctor at a hospital in California. After the move, she had no problems finding a job at a local family clinic within the Sanctuary.
The Richards had 2 daughters and a son in between. All five of them settled in a very comfortable 5 bedroom home in Sanctuary, courtesy of Ian’s company.
The community in Sanctuary was small and close-knit enough that pretty soon, almost everyone knew everyone else. Literally all the friends Ian and Chloe made in Sanctuary shared their exact circumstances. They were all white couples or families who moved to New Atlanta for work and who are all high-flying professionals like engineers, lawyers, medical workers, and business executives.
Ian’s work was moderately demanding, but he was never worried about his wife because she had her own career and even her own social group with the other wives of Sanctuary. Her work and lifestyle kept her relatively engaged and she still found the time to work out four times a week. His kids all go to good private schools within Sanctuary that keep them similarly productively engaged most of the week.
Over time, Ian became aware on what goes on in New Atlanta beyond the boundaries of Sanctuary. He was understandably appalled, but he was convinced he and his family was protected and insulated from the old laws.

Life in Sanctuary was relatively peaceful and kind of boring until the addition of some new colorful residents. Like the rest of the folk in Sanctuary, Jamar Lewis, Shawn Chase, and Tyrell Jackson had moved to New Atlanta from different parts of the country for their jobs.
The most striking thing about these three young gentlemen was the fact that they were black, which was almost unheard off within Sanctuary. Of course, there were plenty of black people who had moved to New Atlanta for work, but all of them without exception had chose to live outside Sanctuary, for very obvious reasons.
The second striking thing about these three new black residents was their job. All three 20-year-olds were the first round picks of the New Atlanta Falcons during the recent NFL Draft. They’ve come to New Atlanta to officially start their tenure with the city’s football team.
Now, New Atlanta have become somewhat of a fanatical football city in recent decades. Some would say it’s because the Falcons sucks ass. It’s almost a universal law at this point that the worst teams tends to gain the most rabidly faithful fans in the league.
That’s where Jamar, Shawn, and Tyrell comes in. It’s no secret that the New Atlanta Falcons blew all their capital and then bent over backwards to get fucked in the ass in order to secure these three top rookies who had become national sensations in college football. They were so good that for the first time ever, the MVP title was shared by three people.
As you can imagine, the hype was very real. And there was nowhere on earth where the hype was hotter than in New Atlanta. The three boys were welcomed as heroes and hailed as messiahs for the New Atlanta Falcons.
That’s how much the Falcons sucked.
The arrival of the three young Falcon rookies generated quite a buzz within Sanctuary. There was no escaping the football fever in New Atlanta. Almost everyone who moved there will get NFL football fever sooner or later. Even Ian and Claire, who have long been 49ers fans, switched over to supporting the Falcons during their second year in the city.
The excitement was infectious. Ian and Claire couldn’t stop talking about the three hot new celebrities who would be joining their community soon….
