Beginning of Something Cool

The next morning, Patrick, Mallory and Sasha were walking into the school arm in arm. Ahead of them was the newest member of Big Lake High school. Grace was walking down the hall saying hello to all of the people that she hadn’t seen in two years.

“Oh hey. Hello. How are you? Good to see you again.” Grace said as she talked to everyone.

“Well, look at little Ms. Hyper go.” Mallory said, giggling.

“I know she has so much energy. I don’t know how she does it.” Patrick said.

“I think she gets it from Aunt Paige. That woman is always into something.” Sasha said.

“Damn, you got hot. Hello. Good Morning.” Grace said as she continued to talk to people.

“That girl has no filter does she?” Patrick asked.

“She never has.” Sasha said.

“That’s true. She has always said what was on her mind without thinking about it first.” Patrick said.

“Are you regretting bringing her into our group yet?” Mallory asked.

“Nope. She’s a lot of fun if you can get by all of the chatter.” Patrick said.

“I have to agree with that. She is fun.” Sasha said.

“I will have to hang out with her more often and get to know her again.” Mallory said.

“Oh, I think that would be great. I always looked up to you.” Grace said as she joined the group.

“Well, we can look at our schedule and see when we are both available.” Mallory said.

“That would be great. I think all of us who share a yard should be like best friends.” Grace said.

“Well, hopefully you get close enough to all of the girls and it will be you dating each other.” Patrick said.

“Oh, I love that idea. I already love my cousins.” Grace said as she pulled Sasha into a hug and she thought about Marybeth and Faith as well.

“I’m talking about a different kind of love though.” Patrick said.

“Oh, I know. Not the platonic kind.” Grace said.

“So, do you know where your locker is?” Sasha asked.

“Yep. I’m going to go and put my stuff up now. I will see you later, lovers.” Grace said as she pecked all of them on the lips and left to find her locker, still saying hello to everyone along the way.

“Well, there’s no telling what that girl is going to get into.” Mallory said.

“I think she is going to be fun. I think she and Marybeth are going to have it out though.” Patrick said.

“Oh, they definitely will. Grace is too hyper for Marybeth. What should we do about it?” Sasha asked.

“We let it play out and hope they work past it.” Patrick said.

“You just want to see a cat fight.” Mallory said.

“I won’t deny that.” Patrick said with a smirk.

“It would be pretty hot.” Sasha said.

“Now that I think about it, it really would be.” Mallory said.

“One thing I know for sure is that there will never be a dull moment from now on.” Sasha said.

“I don’t see that as a problem.” Patrick said.

“Me either.” Mallory said.

“So, we better get to class. We don’t need to be late to our classes because of our new hyper girlfriend.” Sasha said.

“No we don’t. I will see you two later.” Mallory said as she kissed both Patrick and Sasha and walked to her first class of the day.

“My lady.” Patrick said to Sasha as he gave her his arm and she wrapped her arm around his.

“Such a gentleman.” Sasha said, giggling.

“Let’s go then. We don’t need to be late to Kelly’s class.” Patrick said and Sasha nodded in agreement as they walked toward their math class.

The day was finally over and Patrick went outside in his sweatpants and a hoodie for conditioning for soccer. He ran a mile and then the team got together and just practiced a bit until it was time to go home. He got home and dinner was waiting for him and the family was all sitting at the table and once he joined them they started to eat and talk.

“So, how was your day today?” Josie asked her kids and Kim.

“It was good. I was glad to finally get started with conditioning because that means that the season is right around the corner.” Patrick said.

“Basketball practice was good. Nothing new to report. I am ready for softball though.” Sue said.

“Not much for me. I just volunteered at the high school again when I didn’t have an online class.” Debbie said.

“I did my online classes and then I went to work at the motorcycle place at the mall.” Kim said.

“How about you honey?” Josie asked, looking toward Claude.

“Working for your sister is actually pretty fun. I helped put a few more of her videos on line today. I don’t know how she has so much content.” Claude said.

“It’s Jenn we’re talking about. You know she has sex more than one time in a day on a regular day. It’s normally more than that.” Josie said.

“Good point.” Claude said. “How was your day?”

“It was great. I have a good group of students this year. I love working with all of them and helping them learn at such a young age.” Josie said.

“I’m glad you enjoy your job, mom. Those kids need someone good like you to teach them.” Debbie said.

“What should we do now that we are done with dinner?” Sue asked.

“I don’t have a plan. I think we should all just hang out here until Patrick and Kim have to leave and have their date night.” Debbie said.

“We decided to stay in tonight. We might just hang out upstairs.” Kim said.

“Oh, a night filled with sex then?” Sue asked.

“No, we do more than just have sex, sis.” Patrick said.

“But why? Sex is the best.” Sue said.

“When you ever get in a relationship, you will understand.” Debbie said.

“You too, Sis. I was hoping that you would loosen up some after getting with Chad.” Sue said.

“I don’t need sex all the time like you do. I can do without if I need to.” Debbie said.

“Okay, girls. That’s enough girls. Go clean the dishes so we can put them all away.” Josie said.

“Yes ma’am.” Sue and Debbie said at the same time as they both walked into the kitchen started to clean the dishes.

“Sorry about them, Kim.” Josie said.

“It’s fine. They don’t bother me.” Kim said.

“I heard the other day that you might be helping out with the softball team this spring. Is this true?” Claude asked.

“I’m going to try.” Kim said.

“I think you would do great with an all star team during the summer. It’s fun, but also working with them and getting them ready.” Patrick said.

“That might be something to consider.” Kim said.

“Well, I will support you.” Patrick said.

“As will we.” Josie said, speaking for herself and Claude.

“Thanks guys, that means a lot.” Kim said.

“So, I think it is time to go upstairs.” Patrick said.

“Sounds good to me.” Patrick said

“We’ll see you two later. Don’t get too loud.” Josie said, winking at the kid.

“We’ll do our best not to” Patrick said.

“That’s my boy. Good night, sweetie.” Josie said.

“Good night, mom. Patrick said as he and Kim walked up the stairs and made their way into his room and then laid on the bed and just talked for a long while.
