What's next?
the tutor
The door opened.
Silke was so startled that she flinched.
All this time, she’d been picturing a young research assistant—slender, or at least of average build. A guy like Jonas. Like Max. Like the other nerds from the seminars—pale fingers, too much coffee, not enough sun. Someone who looked like he spent all his time in office hours.
What walked into the room was something else entirely.
There are slim people. There are chubby people. There are fat people.
And then there are the really fat ones.
That’s exactly the kind of person who squeezed through the door. The light from the hallway was enough. The doorframe almost swallowed him whole. Belly first, heavy, bulging beneath his shirt, which gaped between the buttons. Arms that scraped against his torso. A neck glistening with sweat. Five seconds later, she smelled him, too. Unpleasant. Stale. Sweat that wasn’t from today, caked beneath his belt and chest.
He smiled when he saw her.
Beautiful. In the semi-darkness. On the bed. Bare breasts, bare legs, her pussy uncovered.
“Two hours,” he said, as if repeating a contract he’d recited many times before. His voice was higher than his physique suggested. “Sex like with a girlfriend. Not like with a hooker. Kissing. Touching. You stay. You don’t act like you’re just here for a blowjob. Payment afterward. As discussed.”
Not a sound from the closet. Somewhere behind the doors, Mira was breathing so shallowly that Silke could still hear her.
Silke said quietly, just:
“Yes.”
Inside, she hated Mira.
That’s why all the trouble. That’s why someone else had to offer up her pussy. Mira didn’t want sex with that stinking monster. Mira just wanted the grade. Silke hated her for the deal the moment she’d walked in. Hated her for the fact that “savior” had meant this.
And her body?
It betrayed her.
The humiliation. The mistake with the dead end. The bare ass in the wire mesh. Mira’s hand that had made her come just as the tutor spoke. All of that had shifted something inside her. The shame was there, yes. The disgust was there. The smell settled on her tongue.
And yet it grew warm between her legs.
Not in spite of the knot in her stomach. Because of the “yes.” Because of the lack of choice. Because of Jonas, who thought she was at a friend’s house. Because of the two hours that no longer belonged to her.
The tutor closed the door. The hallway light went out. Semi-darkness. The bed creaked as he sat down on the edge and reached for her knee, as if she really were his girlfriend.
Silke left her knee where it was.
A hanger shifted very quietly in the closet.
And Silke realized where the dead end had led: not just to a body that was getting wet, even as her mind hated the monster and Mira for it.
