subjugation of the Owls
The Gotham sun rose pale, stifled by a dense mist that seemed to refuse to touch Michael’s domain. In the bedroom, Selina lay in a deep, heavy slumber, curled in silk sheets like a satisfied cat; around her neck, the cold steel of the collar marked her skin like an indelible signature—a constant reminder of who held the reins of her will.
Michael, however, had no need for rest. He dressed with the glacial calm of one watching a war already decided. The divine power in his veins pulsed in perfect harmony with the city’s morbid rhythm; he controlled heartbeats, heard secrets rotting in the sewers, and sensed the palpable fear buried deep within the ancient foundations of Gotham.
In the central courtyard, an elite force of lethal warriors awaited him. Talia al Ghul stood imposing as a statue of ebony and steel, flanked by fifty blades of the League of Assassins. Beside her, Daria kept her fingers firmly gripped around the hilt of her katana, her eyes gleaming with an ancestral bloodlust. Brianna and Rachael reviewed tactics in icy whispers, while Barbara monitored holograms that flickered and threatened to vanish amidst the surge of energy emanating from Michael. Jade—the Red Hood—spun the barrel of her pistol with a wicked smile.

"The Court of Owls breathes false certainties," Talia interjected, her voice sharp as a blade. "Hidden in stone nests, they believe tradition and anonymity make them untouchable."
Michael looked at his retinue of living weapons. "They call the very ground I chose to walk upon 'home,'" he replied, his voice resonating with a seismic gravity that forced the League’s assassins to their knees out of sheer survival instinct. "Today, we shall teach them the meaning of sovereignty."
He issued no orders. He simply willed it so.
Reality tore open with a sharp crack. The courtyard dematerialized, giving way to the Court’s underground sanctuary—a circular chamber draped in heavy crimson velvet and watched over by dozens of white porcelain masks that seemed to mock the intrusion. Upon claw-shaped stone thrones, the Matriarchs waited, enigmatic in their black robes.

"Who are you, the fool who intrudes?" hissed the Great Matriarch, the sound as harsh as dry leather scraping against headstones. "Will you die by our blade?"
Michael stepped forward, sovereign and indifferent to their theatrics.
He did not move a muscle. He simply rewrote the fundamental law of that space: *Here, authority belongs to me.*
The impact was seismic. The Matriarchs felt their bodies betray centuries of privilege in a single second. Black silk tightened like a suffocating serpent; porcelain masks shattered into a thousand pieces, revealing withered faces seized by the absolute horror of losing control over their own breath.
"Now," Michael decreed, his voice heavy as the gravity of a thousand galaxies. "Bow your heads. All of you."
The air in the underground sanctuary froze before the echo of Michael’s voice could fade. From the vertical shadows carved into the ancient stone walls, the Talons emerged like corpses roused from a centuries-old nightmare, silver blades glinting with an ancestral hunger. But the Bat-Family’s response was instantaneous—a bolt of fury and surgical precision that sliced through the chamber's silence.
Rachael was the first to move, flanking the enemy with the lethal fluidity that had defined her time as Nightwing. Her escrima sticks hummed with blue energy, striking the first Talon’s chest with enough force to shatter ribs reinforced with electrum. An acrobatic leap took her out of the line of fire of a volley of daggers; she landed with dangerous elegance, taking down another of the Court’s assassins.

"Too slow for someone who claims to rule Gotham," Rachael taunted, spinning her sticks to block the rusted blade of a third opponent.
Beside her, Brianna advanced like a relentless shadow. She blocked a Talon’s strike with her reinforced gauntlets, using the undead warrior’s own momentum to throw him off balance before locking him in an armbar that snapped the joint with a sharp crack. Her eyes—cold and calculating beneath her dark hood—scanned the hall, anticipating the Court’s every move.

"Your tradition is over," said Brianna, her voice sharp as glass, as she delivered a devastating kick to the chin of another masked figure.
Total chaos erupted when Daria joined the fray. The dark heiress of the Ghul lineage unsheathed her katana, which emitted a sonic hum. The ancestral hatred coursing through her veins burned in her green eyes as she faced three of them simultaneously. Steel clashed against steel in an incessant shower of sparks; Daria dodged blows by mere centimeters, severing tendons and dismembering the immortal servants with brutal, relentless efficiency.
"You’re nothing but trash buried in the dust!" Daria shouted, driving her blade into the chest of the last Talon before her, then spinning to decapitate another attempting to ambush her from behind.
From atop a stone ledge, Jade covered their advance with chaotic cool-headedness, adjusting the grip on her twin pistols—modified with incendiary rounds. With short, precise, thunderous shots, she destabilized the Court’s marksmen hidden in the upper tiers, shattering their porcelain masks into glowing shards.

"Did you really think you could scare me with that pale china face?" Jade taunted, firing a shock round that paralyzed a Talon just as he was about to pounce on Rachael. She drew a tactical combat knife, a look of cutting disdain on her face. "My turn to play."
As the Bat-Family fought their way through the Court’s immortal army in a symphony of metal and blood, the Matriarchs—kneeling and crushed by the gravity imposed by Michael—watched helplessly as their millennia-old empire crumbled in a matter of minutes; they exchanged glances, realizing that only one option remained: submission.
