What next
Sofia tells Jay to drive
With that, she leans forward, pursing her lips. I turn a little more and lean in too, meeting her lips with mine. This little part in the back of my brain says that we’re both still processing the conversation we just had. But none of that matters because her lips are warm, and I just can’t get enough of them. I palm the side of her face with my free hand, so my thumb is resting in front of her ear and my fingers are half caught in her damp hair that’s pulled into the loose bun. My other hand finds its way to her leg, resting on the bare skin of her inner thigh where the sundress has ridden up, thanks to the way she’s sitting.
When Sofia doesn’t flinch, I close the distance until I’m touching her panties. She sighs into the kiss, making the smallest sound, and inches closer. The fact that she didn’t rebuke me encourages me to press forward so that the back of my fingers press a little harder against the thin cotton. I place my palm over the soft curve of her sex, covering the warmth that I find there. I can feel her slit through them, and I press my middle finger along the length of it. The moment I apply more pressure, she exhales sharply into my mouth, and a full moan escapes her.
Her hips twitch forward, just enough to give me better access, and I feel her thighs part another fraction of an inch in silent invitation while her tongue pushes further into my mouth. I start to rub back and forth over her panties, feeling the way she pushes against me, trapping my hand between her and the seat. Her breathing starts to become a little more ragged, and she nips at my bottom lip, then soothes it with her tongue.
A loud rattle suddenly rolls past the back of the SUV from somebody pushing a shopping cart across the lot. The wheels are clattering over cracked and rutted asphalt.
Sofia jumps, and her hand snaps down to my wrist, grabbing me and stopping me cold. I freeze when she does. Looking around to make sure no one saw us, she looks back at me with wide eyes and a little flushed. Then she lets out a breathless laugh and releases my wrist.
I grin, sheepish, already pulling my hand back to the safer territory of her knee.
“Sorry,” I mutter. “Guess I got a little carried away.”
She just smiles back mischievously with sparkling eyes. “You think?”
I laugh under my breath, rubbing the back of my neck. “Yeah. So maybe it was bad timing. Strip-mall parking lot probably isn’t the vibe for a woman like you anyway,” I say with a laugh.
Sofia glances out the windshield at the half-empty lot again, then back at me. Her expression shifts to something a little more playful.
“How do you feel about driving?” she asks.
I blink. “Me? Drive this? Are you kidding?”
She shrugs one shoulder, casual as anything. “It’s just a car, Jay. You spend all day driving. What’s the big deal?”
I look around the cabin, the screens, the leather, the sheer size of it compared to my little used compact. Replacing one of her seats would probably cost more than replacing my car. “I mean… if anything happened while I was driving your… whatever this cost–”
She rolls her eyes, but the smile stays. “It’s insured. And I trust you.”
“Why do you even want me to?” I ask, a little confused by the conversation in the first place.
She leans closer, dropping her voice to a teasing register that makes a little more blood rush to my groin. “Because… I want to give you one last birthday present. For being so understanding about all of this.”
She glances down at my lap, making sure it’s obvious, then back up, waggling her eyebrows with exaggerated salaciousness. My mouth goes dry.
“Oh,” is my only response.
“Yeah.” She reaches over, pops her seat belt, and then opens the door. “Come on. Let me spoil you one last time before we get you home.”
I hesitate for maybe half a second to imagine explaining a totaled Range Rover to my insurance company, then climb out and walk around the car. She climbs in, smooths her dress over her thighs, and looks at me expectantly.
“Whenever you’re ready, papi,” she says sweetly. “No rush. But the sooner we get moving… the sooner I can unwrap my gift.”
I swallow hard, adjust the seat and mirrors, and take a deep breath before pulling her Range Rover out of the parking spot. She barely gives me enough time to get out into traffic before she’s squirming around in her seat.
