How's the visit go?

Denial

Chapter 4 by SinfulSageOFFICIAL SinfulSageOFFICIAL

I make my way to the financial office. Even at a prestigious school, I'm stuck grabbing a ticket from the counter, waiting in line, and talking to the teller like it's the DMV. At the end of the several hour encounter, I'm denied any further financial assistance, apparently any further housing isn't in the university's budged.

I'm only a little disappointed, considering they're already paying over half my rent, but still at a loss for how we're going to cover the other remaining half. I could ask my parents, but they're already providing so much for me. They'd say yes, but they wouldn't let me know if it was really a financial burden or not. I could seek a job, but Cassandra is right that I need to focus on school. Either of us dropping out clearly isn't an option. I'd need to think hard on this one, and weigh our options.

I return home after the short walk, the sun setting over the horizon. With my new key, I unlock the door, finding Cassandra inside, sitting on the couch and doing something on her phone.

"Baby! I have an idea!" she says, excitedly.

"Well, that's good, because the finance office said we're getting all we'll get from them." I reply, happy to hear some kind of good news about the situation.

"Oh, Jason, don't worry, I've got it all figured out." She says with a smile.
