" That guy ... robbed me! Now what do I do? "
Go outside
With Scarlet and your band mates gone you're left just staring at your mess of an apartment. Saying it's bad looking can't describe how full of trash it is. From how things look you're guessing the previous tenant was evicted, leaving a lot of their belongings behind. You take a quick look around through all the rooms and it's not petty.
" Bathroom... gross. Kitchen...disgusting. Balcony...nice view. I'll take weeks to go though things and clean this place up...and it's just me alone for the first week." You think to yourself.
Going though the kitchen and bathroom you did notice a few unopened hotel sized soaps and shampoos, and the kitchen did have a few unopened frozen dinners. You guess they may be safe to eat.
"The bare minimum of essentials are covered at least. I should probably check out the convenience store Scarlet mentioned." You can't help but feel you're just a few steps shy of being homeless. But at least you have a roof over your head and a budding music career.
"Most bands start out living rough, why should I be any different ? " You think to yourself.
You make your way down the stairs of your apartment building, and though the glass door before you get your first glimpse of New York's streets. The noisy hustle and bustle of the city practically hits you in the face as soon as you open the door and step outside. You knew cities were loud and crowded from what you've seen on TV, but this is another level.
"This is New York..." You think to yourself. Your eyes take in their surroundings, and spot the convenience store Scarlet mentioned. You also see a nearby park not far away while you walk the local 24/hr convenience store. Here you can buy your everyday necessities at any time. Prices are a bit higher than a larger retail store but that's the price you pay for convenience.
"I need to purchase some some cleaning supplies. It probably wouldn't be a bad idea to buy some of the essentials too."
Purchasing cleaning supplies was expensive but necessary. You spend the rest of the afternoon cleaning and scrubbing down all the surfaces, removing garbage and trying to make the place livable. But soon it's the evening and you feel you've hardly made a dent.
"There's no end to this" You think to yourself feeling a bit defeated. Finally exhaustion hits you and you concede defeat. Perhaps you'll work on this some more tomorrow.
