The fire crackles merrily, and the mingling of its warmth and the night chill is oddly comforting. Hailee Siegel paces restlessly while Ro Nielsen pours whiskey into a plastic cup. The petite redhead seems perfectly at ease. She’s often reserved, but never at times like this.

“If I lie, they’ll know. If I tell the truth, they’ll think I’m crazy. Maybe I am crazy.”

“Aria.” Ro finishes the whiskey and puts the cup down. She rests her hands on Aria’s hips and looks up at her. The wild-haired Aria is a full head taller than Ro. Ro lifts her head, then goes up on her toes a little.

“You’re cute,” Aria says with a laugh, leaning down to plant a kiss on Ro’s lips.

Hailee stops pacing and watches bitterly.

Ro glares. “I’m cold.”

Aria laughs. “Then take off your clothes.”

“Here?”

“Why not?”

Ro blushes, but she unzips her fleece and begins to strip. Aria looks pleased as she watches, and Hailee has to admit that firelight does wonders for making one look good. Ro is cute, but she has a small, skinny body. The campfire makes even that seem sexy and seductive. She shivers.
