So what's the fall out from two underwater cities falling?
Nothing good
They tried to hold on; they truly did, but in the end it was too much. It started with the outer walls and the turrets. They fired again and again, keeping the creatures at bay with unending fire. The problem was as creatures were cut to pieces by the unending fire, they came back. One would become a dozen, and a dozen would become a hundred.
The turrets reached a point where they were actually causing a problem, as the huge abomination that was a sick parody of a whale that was leading the invaders was never harmed. It kept its distance and had the other soak up the incoming fire. So they eventually reached the point of there being too many, and the turrets were overwhelmed. A huge force of the invading army just forcing its way to be close with the turrets through sheer ferocity and numbers
The sound that it was their time to take up the defense and hold was the sound of the turrets being destroyed. Thousands of tentacles, crab claws, and razor-sharp fins tearing the turrets to pieces. Queen Cleo, a woman not known for staying back when she could attack, proved that she was not letting go of this habit.
"Destroy them all!" Queen Cleo roared as her raiders and royal guard moved to intercept the invading hoard. Queen Eeras and her forces made no move to go with them, though her forces did look at her, wondering if they were abandoning Queen Cleo to fight the invaders along the outer districts.
" We are holding the inner wall. This is a siege not a battle the foolish bitch will fall and she'll be back hear soon enough." Queen Eeras said to the troops around her who nodded at what she said and heard what she didn't say. As Queen Eeras clearly saw queen Cleo rash aggression as a stupid descion and was more than happy to let Cleo find out just how stupid she was being.
The battle went on, with the remaining raiders of Queen Cleo trying their best. They delivered blow after blow and kept attacking no matter how poorly it looked like it was working. Their ferocious countercharge in the end amounted to nothing, and in the end all it accomplished was getting more of them taken.
The screams of the raiders being pulled into the invading horde are haunting the ones still in the fight. Queen Cleo was forced to see she was losing, as it was clear she was down to half of what she had started the charge with. "Retreat!" Queen Cleo said with bitter resentment in every letter of the word, but she knew it had to be done. She and what was left of her curves made back to Queen Eera's line at the inner wall.
"So aggressive and stupid as always." Queen Eeras said her anger at Queen Cleo's reckless action cheats all. Though Queen Cleo never got to respond as everyone became too busy trying to fight the invaders. So it went on for hours more, the inner walls covered in warriors battling in a grand melee that would decide the fate of both people.
It was clear after a while what that fate would be for them as they were defeated and taken away one by one. Though the defenders didn't know to be busy trying to block blows or give a killing blow themselves to take note of a bigger picture. Eventually only the two queens were left fighting, doing so back to back. Queen Eeras eventually noticed that it was just her and Queen Cleo surrounded by the invaders.
As she heard her blood pumping in her ears and felt the weakness creeping into her hands, she knew it was over. "Then there was only one thing to do." Queen Eeras said and turned around without warning. Looking into the eyes of a surprised Queen Cleo, who was clearly about to ask what the hell she thought she was doing.
Queen Eeras responded to Queen Cleo's confusion and outrage by running her through. As Cleo straggled their on her spear she put her lips to Cleo ear and spoke. "If I'm going to die at these abominations' hands, I'm killing you before they do. The satisfaction is the least you owe me, you bitch!" Queen Eeras whispered into queen Cleo's ear with venom.
Queen Cleo looked back at her betrayal and hatred clear in her face before both of them were taken by the invading sea monsters. The two were on their way to find out what the abominations had planned for them. The people in the bunkers would come out, and the gladiators would flee far from the city that been the place of their enslavement.
So for now the only sign of life in both cities would be the sea life moving through the war-torn buildings of both. It was the end of both countries; the only bright spot for the people of both cities was that there were those that could tell their story rather than it being a mystery for the rest of time.
