Is this the end for our heroine?

Of course not

Chapter 26 by bigdamnvillain bigdamnvillain

You smack Donna on her back and she coughs out a lungful of water. Her inhale finds air rather than water, leading to a series of deep raspy breaths in between deep retching as she expels the rest of the water swallowed and inhaled. It’s several moments before she can do anything besides lie there and try to breathe. I guess almost drowning is tough even on Amazons.

She becomes aware that the last of the water is circling down the drain, and she sits up. Which is when she realizes she's no longer hogtied and is able to sit up. She blinks her eyes and tries to look around, still coughing and wheezing, as the fluffy black towel lands on her head.

"If you're all done, we've got places to be." Donna pulls the towel off her head, her wrists still tied with the lasso. "As nice as it’d be to chill here in Swank Central all day, I wouldn’t want Superman or somebody to walk in on us when we’re in the middle of something.”

She tries to give you an intimidating stare, but in her current state can't really pull it off. "That would be awkward,” the girl says in the voice of someone who's smoked two packs a day for 20 years. But at least the coughing has mostly stopped.

"Right? No one wants that. So dry off and let’s get going."

"Where are we going?" she asks as she runs the towel over her face and body. Her voice sounds better already and the shivering has mostly stopped – fast healer.

"Someplace much less swanky but a lot more private." You watch her appreciatively, trusting the lasso to ensure her cooperation, as she stands up to finish drying off. She seems too wiped out to worry about modesty.

Once she's finished and has piled her hair atop her head wrapped in the towel, you lead her out of the bathroom and walk the naked heroine around the apartment asking her what you can do to make the place look as undisturbed as possible: what books belong on the coffee table, how she leaves the blinds, that sort of thing. You already know from the building access logs that Diana's cleaning service is due in a few days, so the used towels and such should be fine in the hamper until then. You also have Donna look at each of the ventilation grates to confirm she can't see the cameras you hid.

The young Amazon tries to ignore the fact that she’s naked except for the bracers on her wrists and the towel on her head, and pretends that being led around by her own lasso is no big deal. But she’s not as good an actress as Diana, and you can tell she’s rattled. Her flawless skin is slightly flushed, her beautiful eyes are just a touch wider than normal, and there’s tension in her stance that reminds you of a nervous cat. The irony is that walking all tall and proud makes her firm tits stand out proudly, and the stride really shows off her long, slender legs.

Finally, you have Donna show you where Diana keeps her "petty cash," which turns out to be maybe ten thousand dollars in a variety of currencies. You leave enough behind that it’s not immediately obvious she’s been cleaned out. You also have Donna identify a few pieces of jewelry Diana won't miss that can easily be converted into cash. ("Even if she does notice they're gone, she'll probably assume it was Cassie again.") You expect some sort of insult about resorting to petty theft, but she doesn’t even bother.

It's not until you unzip the large hard-shell suitcase that Donna realizes where things are headed, and she blanches slightly in spite of herself.
