How does the rest of the day go?
Secrets are exposed and an important meeting is held
As afternoon transitions into evening, the pool party has started to disband. The relaxation was much needed, but the focus begins to once again return to the game. Derek heads into the Have-Not room to talk with Liam.
DEREK (Diary Room) - "I've been putting in work to gather the votes for me this week, and I think it's working. Roxy and Isabel won't vote me out because of our Day 1 deal, and I think that Chirag, Danielle and Marcus are on my side, too. I just need a couple more people to flip and I'll be safe. That's why I need to talk to Liam. The house loves Liam, and I've wanted to work with him from the beginning. If I share some information with Liam, I think he'll be willing to trust me and use his influence to keep me safe."
LIAM - "So what did you want to talk about?"
DEREK - "Listen, I know that you and Julian are buddies. If you want to vote me out because I'm his target, I understand."
LIAM - "Well, nothing's set in stone yet."
DEREK - "I know, and I'm just throwing out hypotheticals. All I ask is that, if you go with Julian, you watch your back going forward."
LIAM - "I understand. It's a game."
DEREK - *whispers* "Listen, I'm going to share something with you. It cannot leave this room. You understand?"
LIAM - *nods* "Of course."
DEREK - "Before the HOH competition, the four winners: me, Julian, Roxy and Isabel, we were all in the storage room talking. The four of us made a pact that, no matter which of us won, we would not target each other the first week."
LIAM - "Okay."
DEREK - "Obviously, Julian didn't honor that deal since he nominated me. So just know that he's more devious than he lets on."
LIAM - "I'll keep an eye on him."
Derek leaves the Have-Not room having accomplished his mission. Liam remains behind, rattled by what he's just heard.
LIAM (Diary Room) - "Oh my god, Derek just dropped a bomb on me! I don't know if he's telling the truth or just grasping at straws, but if this deal was for real, it throws a major wrench in my plans. I need to get to the bottom of this and figure out the truth. If Julian did break his word with Derek, that means that Isabel and Roxy know it, too, and they'll have every reason to try and evict him."
Later that night, you are in the lounge room with Daisy Mae, Isabel and Roxy. You agreed to meet with them tonight to discuss the vote, and you quickly catch each other up on what you know so far. Roxy proposes that everyone give their pitch for who they think the group should evict and why.
DAISY MAE - "Personally, I'm leaning towards keeping Eugene. Derek is a wily player. He's someone that I could see putting us on the block if he won an HOH, which he could easily do."
ISABEL - "But right now, he's not looking at any of us. He's looking at Julian. If Derek stays and wins the next HOH, Julian is 100% the target. I have no idea who Eugene would nominate if he had to choose."
ROXY - "My biggest concern is keeping our group safe going forward. Even though we all want Julian out, there's no guarantee that'll happen next week. What if someone like Alina wins the HOH? What if Julian gets picked to play in the Veto?"
John - "Right now, Julian thinks we're on his side. If we go with Julian's plan and evict Derek, we'll lose a strong weapon but we can keep up the illusion that we're working with him. If we evict Eugene, there's a better chance that Julian goes home next week, but he'll also get tipped off that we're not all on his side."
The conversation continues for a long time, with all four of you working through the different scenarios of what might happen with either decision. Eventually, you reach a consensus.
