It started out quite innocently.

Jonas was on a two-week road trip—traveling alone by car, with no set destination. Silke stayed at home, in her shared apartment, going about her daily life. The first messages were still perfectly normal: “I miss you already,” “How’s it going with you?” “I’m in the mountains right now—it’s beautiful here.”

But at some point, the tone changed.
