Bad times for you, good times for her

You're having a hard time at work. Darius, your boss, has been pushing you too hard, bullying you with insults, extra work, and gossips about erectile dysfunction (which are not true). You've been trying to tell human resources, but the H.R. representative, despite being a calm, nice lady, seems so infatuated by Darius that she cannot take you seriously. It seems unless he hits you or abuses you physically, there's nothing that can be done.

Darius is a physically imposing black man, much taller and much much stronger than you. He's also many times richer than you. You know he's a bully, but that doesn't take away all the power he has over you and everyone around him. You know he wants you to break and quit.

And when you get to your small apartment, a shining beam of sunlight blesses you: Cindy, your fiance, welcomes you! Your gorgeous, blonde, blue-eyed girl who will soon become your bride! She hugs you so tightly —more than usual, as if she knew you were feeling shitty—. She smells fresh and sweet, right out of the shower, although she feels warmer than usual.

"Babe! So happy to see you! How was work?"

You tell her about it all, and how you're on the brink of resigning.

"Don't say that! I know you can do it!" She kisses you ever so softly on the lips. "You know, now that you mention it... Today at the gym I actually... Met Darius."

She seems kind of shy to tell you this, and you are shocked.

"It was a coincidence! Apparently, he's going to start going to my gym, so there's that... And... We actually talked a little. He said you're a hard worker! And he gives you all that unpaid overtime because he knows you can do it! However, I did face him about the bullying he does and... I think he's considering changing... I know, I know what you've told me about it, it's just... He seems like a good man with a tough, rock hard exterior, that's it. He actually asked me if I could be his personal trainer! He said maybe with my guidance, he can be better and stop saying all thise nasty things about you!"

You're totally stunned. You do know how incredibly hot Cindy is, and that she can be quite persuasive. But can she change Darius? You're skeptical.

"A male trainer? Well, he said he's trained with men, but that he wants to focus on different types of exercise. One that only women can do."

Pilates? Must be pilates, you think. It's funny to picture Darius doing pilates, but if it's going to help channel his bullying energy, then...

"Great! So we'll be having our first training together tomorrow! Let me send him a message about it! Huh? Sure, of course we exchanged numbers! How else would I confirm this exercise date? You're so silly at times, babe!"

She kisses you on the forehead.

"Dinner's ready, by the way! Ah! And... I'm sorry again for last night. You know I didn't mean to say Brad's name while we were making love. Again. It's just... You know I love you so much, right? And making love with you is so... Intoxicating, I sometimes don't know what I'm saying. It's... You're that good."

She doesn't sound that convincing, but you're convinced anyway. She's that sweet.

You have the feeling everything will get much better.
