They arrive

The backyard buzzed with activity as Ari stepped out onto the patio, the humid air clinging to her skin like a second layer. Immediately, she felt the weight of numerous stares boring into her barely-covered body. Whispers followed her movements as she made her way to the poolside bar for a drink, the icy liquid providing little relief from the flush creeping up her neck.

Everywhere she looked, male eyes raked over her curves, lingering on the tantalizing expanse of cleavage and the way the tiny triangles of her bikini bottoms disappeared between her ass cheeks. Ari's hands trembled slightly as she set her glass down, hyperaware of her own nakedness beneath the thin fabric.

Suddenly, Tyler appeared at her elbow, a mischievous grin playing at the corners of his mouth. “Looking good, Ari, he said, voice low and intimate”

Ari flashed a shy smile at Tyler's compliment, ducking her head slightly. “Thank you, Tyler. You're too kind”. Even as the words left her lips, she could feel Jake's intense gaze burning into her from across the pool deck, his eyes dark with unmistakable hunger.

Before she could dwell on it further, Tyler continued, “Say, I hate to drag your man away, but we've got some stuff to discuss inside. Guy things, you know?” He winked conspiratorially. Don't wait up.

With that, he sauntered off towards Joe, throwing an arm around his shoulders and steering him towards the house. Ari watched them go, a strange mix of relief and unease settling in her gut. Being alone with these two again, after that charged encounter the other night... it set her nerves on fire with anticipation and dread.
