Your wife finds a genie

Your phone was ringing. That was already concerning. It was probably a scam. Basically everyone who has your number knows you don't like getting called, especially when you're at work. You were about to hang up when you saw "Leah Doe". Suddenly, the most likely situation went from "someone wants money" to "someone is probably in an ambulance or already in ED". Your wife is one of very few people who hates phone calls more than you so for her to be calling something has gone very wrong.

"Who's dying?" You answered.

"Hello to you too, darling" came your wife's voice, calming your nerves significantly. "No one's dead or dying, but I will need a lift. Gary is a bit too busy doing headstands in a stream with his new friend to do much driving"

Gary. The car. He was Leah's first car. She bought him more than ten years ago, and he'd been running for another fifteen before that. A pretty decent go at life, but by the sounds of it this was the end.

"Alright, where are you?"

"Not sure exactly what number I'm at, but if you head towards my client's place you'll see me. I'll text you my clients address"

"That works. I'll leave work now. Love you"

"Love you too" then she ended the call.

A few seconds later, the address pings through.

I walked over to my boss's office. "Hey Jim, imma head out now. My wife's been in a crash and I need to pick her up. I'll probably be back tomorrow"

"Sure thing, just do a leave form tomorrow" your boss replies.
