Chapter 4 by Ultra Bra Ultra Bra

What does the transformation do?

Makes you superhumanly fast and agile

(Author's note: this story branch was co-authored by Sylvia Sniper)

A tingling, electrifying sensation alerts you to attention. Your muscles, your whole body starts to feel like a tiny lightbulb being hooked up directly into a socket.

Sophie: "Wh-wh-whooah! WHOAH!"

You suddenly feel your mind running like a bullet train, and your body feels full of energy like it never has before. Your chest heaves as your heartrate soars into the thousands. Your legs feel like they're going to explode if you don't start running, so you run, out the front door and down the streets. The city whizzes by you as you skillfully dodge every passerby and obstacle.

For about a hundredth of a second, you stop, thinking you forgot your car, but immediately realize you're not going to need it; you can get to work faster on foot! You take off running down the sides of the streets and the highway, making it to work in less than a minute when it would normally have taken closer to half an hour.

While you woke up late, you're actually fifteen minutes early for work on account of your speed. Most of your coworkers haven't arrived yet as you clock in, and Stacy is only just on her way to her office as you arrive.

Sophie: "Morniiiing!"

Stacy: "Geez louise Sophie, you're early! Goodness me, the things you end up seeing when you get older..."

Stacy notices that you now have cat ears and a tail.

Stacy: "Umm... I should probably try to reinforce your timely arrival by saying something nice instead, but what's with the neko getup?"

You smile and shrug, glad that Stacy is happy about you getting to work early, and hoping she'll forgive your sudden transformation for it.

Sophie: "Oh, you like 'em? These are real btw. If you look carefully, I don't have human ears anymore. I'm now a catgirl, and I can zoom like one too, woo!"

Stacy's eyes bulge in her head. She has a look of equal parts disgust, equal parts worry for your sanity. Nevertheless, she shakes her head and goes into her office with a hot cup of coffee in hand and a large folder in the other, not berating you for a single word.

You excitedly jump into your chair, letting it spin around a few times before picking up the top file from your to-do list. Time to see just how fast you can write with these new powers.

You get right to work writing reports, sending requests, and filling spreadsheets. The work doesn't exactly feel any easier, but it does feel a lot less exhausting and boring as you speed through it all. By the time you stop to stretch and grab a drink of water, you've already finished a whole day's worth of work in just half an hour.

Sophie: "Oh shit, now I'm too good at my job! At this rate they'll be expecting me to do ten times the work at twice the pay at most!"

You decide to spend most of the day just pretending to work; hopefully you can still show enough improvement to warrant a raise without the company taking too much advantage of you.

Even while speedrunning through your work, your legs feel restless just sitting down uselessly, and with nothing actually productive to do, the feeling is only exacerbated. You feel like you should be zooming laps around the city, and count the hours down to your lunch break so that you'll be able to do that.

Though, now that you consider it, you haven't really tested the limits of your speed at all yet. You've only been operating at what feels like a comfortable pace for you. You decide to focus, and see just how fast you can go.

What's your top speed?
