Chapter 12 by krystalumpire krystalumpire

How do first impressions go?

The cast all meet together for the first time

Julie Chen welcomes the viewers back to the show. She lets the audience know that, after competing in their respective competitions, each set of four houseguests was sequestered in a different room of the house. Now it's time for everyone to meet the rest of the people they'll be living with and competing against for the rest of the summer. As the video shifts to showing the houseguests, Julie Chen comes over the intercom.

JULIE CHEN - "Houseguests! I'm sure you've all been itching to know who else will be in the house with you this summer. Well, it's time for you to find out. Everyone please go to the living room and meet the rest of the house!"

All 16 houseguests converge in the living room and there's a sudden explosion...of activity. Everyone is quickly introducing themselves to each other, sharing hugs or handshakes. After about two minutes of pleasantries, Julie comes back on the intercom and asks the houseguests to sit down.

JULIE CHEN - "Hello again, houseguests! I'm sure you all want to keep getting to know each other, and I assure you you'll have plenty of time for that later. For now, I want to catch everyone up on where things stand so far and what you can expect to see in the coming days. As you know, everyone here entered the house in groups of four and each group entered the backyard to compete in their first competition. Isabel, Derek, Roxy and Julian, the four of you each won your competition which means that, tomorrow, you four will compete against each other to become the first Head of Household.

Being Head of Household means you're safe for the week and gain access to the HOH bedroom. Being HOH also means that you will have to nominate two of your fellow houseguests for eviction. Later in the week, the HOH, the two nominees and three other houseguests will compete to win the Power of Veto. The winner of the Veto will have the choice to either remove one nominee from the block or keep both nominations the same. If a nominee is removed, the HOH must then immediately replace them with another houseguest. At the end of the week, the house will vote to decide which nominee will be evicted from the house, and then a new HOH will be crowned. The last houseguest standing will win Big Brother and the $750,000 grand prize."

The houseguests erupt into applause at the mention of this.

JULIE CHEN - "Before I leave you, there's one more thing I need to let you know. Victoria, Eugene, Raquel and Liam, the four of you each came in last in your competition which means you four will be Have-Nots for this first week. That means you can only take cold showers, you will eat nothing but Big Brother slop, and you must sleep in the Have-Not bedroom for the entire week. In fact, none of you have seen that room yet, so why don't the four of you head over there and check out where you'll be staying?"

The four Have-Nots all make their way to the bedroom with the other houseguests in close pursuit. When they open the door, they are shocked to see a room that appears like an ancient prison. Brick walls with chains hanging down, loose shackles scattered along the ground, and stiff-looking cots for beds. Most of the houseguests have big reactions upon seeing this. Victoria seems to be the most affected, and she gets upset and storms off to another part of the house. Raquel is also aghast, but choosing to stay and face the horror. Eugene cracks a joke and says the cots won't be able to hold him, getting a laugh. Liam seems the most calm of everyone, stating he used to sleep on beds like this every night in the military.

JULIE CHEN - "With that, I'll leave you to it. Good night, houseguests."

The houseguests all say goodbye to Julie, and the camera returns to Julie on stage as she closes the show. She tells the audience to tune in Sunday on the next episode to see who wins the first Head of Household competition and which two houseguests they'll nominate for eviction. She also announces that 24-hour live feeds of the house will begin later that night so that people can watch the game play out in real time.

JULIE CHEN - "From right here outside the Big Brother house, I'm Julie Chen. Good night, everyone."

The camera pans away as the live studio audience erupts in applause. Fade to black.

Now that the live premiere is over, how does the rest of the first night go?
