Duke removed his fingers from Emerald's forehead, excited to see how she'd act now.

"Thanks for letting me vent, babe," Emerald said sweetly, snuggling up to him. "Cinder and Neo just don't understand how exhausting they can be sometimes. Glad you're here, though."

Duke felt his arms go around her. "Me too." he said.

"So," Emerald said. "Tell me more about this harem of yours."

"Really?" Duke asked.

"I'm your girlfriend," she said, as though this was obvious. "I wanna know all your plans so I can help if you need."

"And Cinder and Neo?"

"Fuck 'em," said Emerald. "If they don't understand that my boyfriend needs me, they don't need my help either."
