Nobody put out a missing persons’ report to French police.

Dr Seraphine Girard had her emergency contact as her landlord.

Rich enough that all bills went out as direct debits.

Work emailed her about her absence a few weeks later — apparently she had emailed about taking a long overdue visit to her grandmothers in Romania.

Hopefully she’d come back full of grandmother cooking. Fat and greedy.
