Agreeing to Work Together?

Suddenly the online stream resumes in the living room. Kyle exclaims in surprise, “Hey, internet is back! Well, at least we filled that time waiting, right girls. Both girls just turned their backs to each other with a ‘hmph’. Kyle eyes are drawn back to the broken mess and he groans, “Well, we’re going to have to clean this up first though. We have light bulbs in the storage room if you two want to look from them. I’ll try to get the ladder.”

The girls follow Kyle out to the hall, trying to explain and win him to their own side on who is at fault. The girls got the lightbulb just fine, but after watching Kyle struggle painfully alone over his injured foot to get the ladder, they relent with Emma saying, “Fine, I’ll help, even if he’s your brother.”

Stacey grumbles, “He’s your boyfriend, but I’d be gracious enough to help nevertheless if this makes us even.”

With them taking up the ladder, Kyle focus on sweeping the glass up and scooting the table over for the ladder.

Kyle, dusting off his hands, congrats cheerfully, “Hey, we did the hard part. Now hopefully this is the last ‘light bulb’ moment we’ll have to deal for tonight.”

Emma nods while Stacey interjects as she inspects the light bulb, “Wait, is this the right type of bulb? Man, can’t we should just wait for dad to fix this or something?”

Kyle replies, “Dang, I think you’re right. Might not even fit… I think I know where to find the other bulbs, but they’re deeper in storage. Try that one and let me know if it fits. Good luck girls!” then starts to hobble back to the storage room at the end of the hall.

Emma whines, “Hey, shouldn’t you put up the bulb?”

Kyle stops for a moment and ponders, “Well, ankle sprang, but I could try. Do you know how to season the roast?” Emma groans and Kyle shrugs before continuing on his way.

Both girls stood there in silence, or as much silence a raging thunderstorm outside would allow. They both slowly up at the ladder, then realizing they’ll need teamwork, groan in unison.
