Watching Water

Water flowing. Warm Paris sunset pouring through the window. Casting shadows.

Leon watched Nadia in the shower. The soap bubbles on her porcelain form. Her hair tied in a bun. She caught him looking and blushed.

It was easy with him.

She had time to really sit with what happened with Greg and Alice. Her ex-husband lost due to perversion and madness. And her protector lost too early. Greg had killed Alice. Motivated by the twisted Volkov Mafia.

Even this was easier to let go.

Nadia wanted nothing to do with crime. Katherine couldn’t guarantee Nadia’s safety, but would keep an eye out. Katherine had a newborn daughter — baby Alice to care for.

And Nadia had Leon — their new spring bliss.

Leon looked at her. His hardened physique. Rough and muscular. Yet gentle calm eyes.

She felt safe.
