In need of a TA

Vi and Erik are almost perfect replicas of eachother as they sit in class. The same bored expression on their faces, their chins in their palms and the slightest of hunches to their backs. The cute nerdy couple that used to sit with them gone now. Matt moving away disrupted the dynamic in this class they had found themselves together in. There was a moment where the flirting and potential was starting to kindle again but it got snuffed out fairly quickly. Erik glances towards the back of the lecture hall, Ellie sits, hair tied up, chewing on a pencil, furiously taking notes. A few weeks ago she may have looked back at Erik and blushed or waved. Now however, she makes eye contact with Erik, smiles and doesn’t take a second look, her attention returning to the laptop in front of her.

“Now, boys and girls.” The young latino professor announces at, “Or should I say young adults?” He chuckles as he peers across the room. “If anyone is interested. Please come see me if you want to be a TA for yours truly.” He steps around from the front desk at the bottom of the hall and puts his a hand into his jacket pocket. “Of course, I’ll take into account the time you would be putting into helping me doing grading, drafting exams, etc etc.” He waves his hand matter of factly. “Being a TA looks exceptional on a resume. Thanks everyone, you’re dismissed.”

Erik grabs his laptop and studies this new professor. Juan Ramirez. Mid 30’s, smooth olive skin, Erik and Vi suspects that he hits the gym, his fashion sense seems to give him a bit of a sleeper build. Always seems to wear looser slacks and he doesn’t take those jackets off during the lectures. A bit on the shorter side, Vi made Erik stand next to him once when he was talking to another student and concluded that Erik has a tiny bit of height on him. Dark black hair, split in the middle, it hangs slightly curly around his face, framing an already sharp jawline.

“He’s a bit more casual than most of the other teachers, don’t ya think?”

Vi had remarked when he first took over the class. Vi and Ellie had been perving on him — Erik looks back at Ellie and whatever sense of debauchery she had was well and truly gone — having already exited out the back door.

“I’m going to apply.”

Erik turns in confusion, watching Vi push her laptop into her bag.

“Why? I don’t think you need any help with getting a job or anything after graduation?”

Vi smirks. “Nah, I won’t.”

She turns to Erik, eyes shining with mischief, the edges of her lips curled upwards with glee. “But he’s hot. And why should you be the only one trying your luck with a teacher.”

Erik looks around in a small panic and stands, whispering to Vi, “Dude! Shhh! Don’t expose me like that.”

Vi giggles and whispers back, “Yeah, yeah. Seriously though, why not? Imagine all four of us.” She winks as she pulls back.

Erik chuckles and glances down at Mr Ramirez. “Alright then. Go for it. Don’t get your hopes up though.” Erik puts a hand on his chin, “I mean, what are the chances that we have two teachers in the same uni that have no sense of ethics and are willing to fuck their students. This isn’t some porn movie or anything.”

Vi smirks, looking at Erik with amusement, “Porn Movie? Are you 100 years old?”

“Fuck off.” Erik gets out with a chuckle, pushing Vi on the shoulder playfully.

Erik stands off to the side as he watches Vi talk to the professor, he watches as the older — albeit young for a professor speaks to Vi with a sense of professionalism, yeah, she’s got no chance theres not even a glance at her chest as she bounces slightly with positivity. Erik smiles as he looks up and waves at Erik as Vi makes her way back to him.

“So?”

She slaps him on the arm as she links her arm through his, “Patience my young padawan. He said he’s going to review them all and let me know.”

“I see. Speaking of padawans. How about you get out that **** Leia cosplay out again soon?”

“Ha!” Vi leans into him, holding him tighter as they walk through the campus, “You’re such a nerd. How about you buy me an outfit of choice, and I’ll put it on just for you, babe.”

“Deal. But you’ll have to go to comic con with me and wear it there too.”

She snorts, “You’re getting a lot more out of this than me.” She ponders the idea as they walk through campus, “Depends what you get, I’ll be the judge.”

“So, there’s a chance?”

“Keep your lightsaber in your pants.”
