Chapter 27 by alyena alyena

So what will it be? Resume your quest to Gerlangen, go to Thoros, or something else?

Onward to Gerlangen

Weighing your options, the choice is simple. Thoros is still your enemy, and your best hope for defeating him is to return the sword of Saint Magdalena to the Supreme War Mother at the High Abbey in Gerlangen. The task is easier said than done, as there will certainly be obstacles along your path that you would not have encountered were you to have made haste...

But only cursing fate will get you nowhere, or worse.

Having decided, you and Indra quickly pack for the journey. You re-clothe yourselves with the garments she had prepared the previous day - your tits fill out the bodice magnificently now - and don thick cloaks, Indra's to ward off the elements, and your's to conceal your horns to some degree. Indra has several days worth of rations and water for herself, a few tonics, and some other herbs and arcane ingredients should the need for her magic arise. Of course, you'll be able to sustain yourself with her body, or whatever other creatures you can conveniently seduce.

Indra recovers the holy sword from where it had been hidden and offers it to you. You accept it, gingerly, fearing some sort of divine retribution for merely touching the blessed steel, but it does not immediately burn you to cinders. Still, you do feel uneasy carrying it for too long, so instead of wielding it on your person, you find some cloths to wrap it in and secure the package to Aegis' saddle.

Speaking of Aegis, the warhorse seems... uncertain of you. You'd prefer to not leave the warhorse behind, but he'll be useless if he's just going to be skittish around you from now on. Indra bends over to pick up something or other for one of Aegis' saddle pouches and you can't help but to admire her shapely ass... And that's when inspiration strikes you!

"Lover, do you have any carrots for Aegis?" She looks back over her shoulder at you with an arched eyebrow, but just rummages through one of the bags without question.

She finds one and hands it over to you before returning to her current task. You walk around to the horse's mouth and wrap your lips around the carrot. When it's sufficiently soaked in your saliva, you pull the carrot back out (your subconscious forces you to do this sensually, even though Indra's back is turned to you and your only other spectator is a horse) and offer it to the steed in the flat of your palm. Despite any misgivings, the horse happily eats the offered treat, along with a dose of your venom.

The change is subtle, but the horse seems to be at ease after only a few minutes. As an animal, it shouldn't affect his sexual desire (you hope to whatever gods are still listening that it doesn't), but it should keep him happy enough to serve you.

Finally, with the sun yet to peak in the sky, you're ready to depart Indra's cottage. There's enough room on the saddle for two slender women, and the warhorse, trained to carry a warrior fully-laden with armor into battle, seems unconcerned by the load.

"Mistress, are you familiar with the route to Gerlangen?" Your companion asks from behind you. Her arms are wrapped loosely around your body.

You realize that this section of wood is completely unknown to you. "It is along the Victory Road, but I'm not sure how to get there from here."

"I know my way here well. I can guide us back to the road if you wish, though it is probably already being watched. We could try to make our way through the wilderness, though it may be equally treacherous." You've heard the rumors: bandits, goblins, and even darker things in the deep woods. Though the road cuts through the forest, it may be difficult or impossible to find your way back once you begin blazing your own trail should things go awry. You should be prepared to commit to whichever choice you make.

Make for the Victory Road, or find your own way through the wilderness?
