What's next?
Tuesday Morning, Approach Abigail
You arrive too late on Tuesday for assembly and head straight to your classroom. As you’re unlocking it, you notice Abigail’s in. This is the ideal time to catch her for Anissa’s petition. You knock and enter.
“Abigail, you’re not at assembly.”
She looks at you with disappointment. She’s playing with the projector at the back of the classroom, setting it up to her laptop.
“Neither are you.”
“Too late, again.”
“I bet you’re devastated about that.” The sarcasm is strong in this one. “I’m the same, or that’s what I’m going to tell Mrs Oversight if she asks.” She winks at you conspiratorially.
“Talking of assemblies, you heard Anissa wants Father Norris, her priest from St Paul’s, to give one.
“She’s trying that again? I told her last year. I’m not supporting it. Look, if she wants to be religious, that’s her business, but I’m all against pushing religion into the students’ faces.”
“Really, I thought you’d support her.”
“No. I’m not. I don’t believe in organised religion, especially not the Catholic Church.”
“So there’s no way I can persuade you to sign the petition?”
