What's next?
Approach Spencer
Leaving assembly is the perfect time to strike. Spencer sat next to Anissa. Walk with them back to the Staff Lounge for a quick cup of coffee.
“Spencer, has Anissa told you what she’s trying to do?”
“What are you trying to do, Nissa?”
Anissa is flummoxed by your introduction. You step in.
“She’s set up a petition for Father Norris of St Paul’s to speak at assembly.”
“Oh, you’re trying that again? I thought you said last time was the last time.”
“Father Norris, he said I wasn’t a good Catholic if I didn’t try again. He said, these things are sent to test us, that faith means nothing if it’s not tested.”
Spencer raises her eyebrows. She then turns her grey eyes to you. “And you’re helping her, are you, John?”
“I promised Anissa I’d help her. So, are you willing to sign Anissa’s petition?”
“As I was the only staff member to sign it last time, yes, I’ll sign it again.”
Fantastic. You open the Googledoc and Spencer signs her name by scrawling on your phone. That was easy, but it suggests that everyone else is going to be harder.
