Zoe felt herself split in two. It wasn't painful, she felt her own body grow back into a strange, warm, and pleasant sensation. In a few moments, they were two.

Zoe froze at that moment. The way they had split in two... who was the original? Was there an original? Were they both Zoes in the same way?

Zoe stopped to examine the other Zoe. She reciprocated her curiosity... and was she blushing?

Zoe: Um, hello? You're me, right?

Zoe2: Um, yes? I'm Zoe...

The second Zoe seemed embarrassed for some reason.

Zoe: I read the cloning spell, so you should be my clone... do you know you're the right clone?

Zoe2: ...I remember reading the cloning spell... you should be the clone...

Zoe was about to believe the worst when the other one finished her sentence.

Zoe2: And yet I feel the need... to listen to you.

Zoe took a breath of relief; apparently Zoe was in charge while the other one was under her orders.

Zoe: Okay, that's a relief. For a moment, I thought we might start arguing about who was... me.

Zoe2: What? No! You're...

Zoe: I'm what?

Zoe2 blushed harder, then answered.

Zoe2: I think I just fell in love... with you.

Zoe: What?

Zoe hadn't noticed that the spell information continued on the next page of the spellbook, explaining how their bodies would actually split and how the clones created would feel a strong affection towards the original Witch, an absolutely mandatory act to ensure the clones couldn't go against the original. They even recommended using this affection to reward the clones with affectionate gestures like kisses, affectionate words, or various amorous activities as a useful tool for controlling them. After all, Zoe should have known; the witches in the stories were quite notorious for their subtle methods of manipulation.

Zoe would note the information later, but now she had to deal with the shock of her clone's sudden declaration of love.
