Ahsoka goes in hard, but Hardcase squeaks the win.

Ahsoka briefly thought that she should have been more careful what she wished for as she was completely shut out of the first round of the match, leaving her the only one with a loss so far.

The second round managed to go in her favor, with her managing to pull a 19 by pure luck that she was able to turn into a 20 to secure her first win of the match.

As the match went on, she noticed that Hardcase was burning through his cards quickly and calling out raises more often than anybody else. He seemed to be trying to get everyone else to back down early so he could rack up an early set of wins and wrap up the match before anybody could challenge him.

Well, that strategy might have worked on Rex, getting him to stand on a measly 10, but Ahsoka's ready to go to war, calling every raise he makes, and even manages to tie with him for Round 3.

With Hardcase running on only 2 cards now, and only at 1 win he scowls a bit as he is **** to take a more conservative position in the game. Round 4 goes to Rex, who's able to pull a surprise victory out of placing down a +5 card to bring him up to 20, and Hardcase, who sees how the wind is blowing and plays his second to last card, a +2. to turn his previously winning 18 into a 20 to tie and keep himself from losing another round. Vaughn, Kix, and Jesse are all out of the match.

Round 5 is intense. Half the players are gone, and anybody who doesn't manage to at least draw is gonna be out as well.. If things don't end in a draw, someone could claim victory of the rather large pot right now. First card hits the board, Hardcase got a 2, Rex a 9, and Ahsoka is internally wincing at the 3 she just drew. She's got 3 cards to work with, 2 +3 cards and a +2. This could be her last round if she doesn't at least tie for first. She checks her remaining credits, 9 Credits in her pile, 11 of hers in the pot.

...Time to risk it. Tossing down a +3 to bring her number up to 6, she says, "I raise 4 Credits." With everyone having 2 losses, if either of them fold, they're handing her the win. Hardcase calls, as does Rex. Second card comes down.

Rex is now at 18, Hardcase is at 12, and Ahsoka can barely suppress her grin at seeing her number jump up to 16. Normally, not that great, but with her other +3..."I raise again, 3 Credits this time."

With her score now at 19, she has a very difficult number to beat, especially with the cards that are showing and what option Rex and Hardcase have in their hands. The captain scowls before saying "Kriff it, I fold. I'd rather save my credits for a less-doomed battlefield."

Hardcase, on the other hand, just says, "Call." Ahsoka makes sure to stand now that she's got a number she can be happy with-and would also have a 90% chance of busting-and let's out a minor cheer as she sees that Hardcase drew a 9, putting him at 21, but her cheer fades instantly as he places a single card.

A -1 card.

He now had a 20, which meant that he won the round, and the match. As he raked in his winnings, Ahsoka checked her credit pouch again and winced at how she'd gone from doubling her money, to being down to 10% of what she'd started the round with.

Anteing for the next round with her last 2 Credits, she draws her Pazaak hand.
