Read Chad's dream

There are lots of things you could do to the dreams of the sleeping ladies, but you want to figure out what's going on with Chad. Why is this guy such an asshole to his family? He's the biggest threat to your scheming, so if you can get some insight, you might be able to manipulate him into being less observant. Or at least a little more tolerable.

Entering Chad’s mind is a jarring experience compared to the fluid, sensory-rich dreams of the women. His subconscious is a skeletal, monochromatic grid. It’s an infinite drafting table of cold blue lines and perfect right angles. There is no scent of lavender or the heat of tequila here; there is only the dry smell of vellum and the rhythmic, metronomic ticking of a clock that sounds like a hammer on a nail.

In the dream, Chad is standing in the center of the house, but it’s stripped to its studs. He’s holding a level, obsessing over a single beam in the foyer. He’s terrified of a structural collapse—not of the house, but of the "Order" he’s built.

“If this isn't straight, the whole thing falls,” he mutters in the dream, his hands trembling. “If they don’t listen, if they don’t follow the plan, the ceiling will crush us all.”

To Chad, being an "asshole" is his way of holding up the roof. His neglect isn't lack of love; it’s a total, obsessive immersion in the "Architecture of Stability."

In his dream-version of the house, his family members are just moving parts that keep malfunctioning. Cherie is a door that won't stay closed; Tyler is a frayed wire; Chloe is a window that lets in too much glare. He is trying to "fix" them with his harshness, unaware that he’s actually the one causing the cracks.
